A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 291 Fists

Before Sierra could finish, everyone already understood what she meant. Their gazes shifted meaningfully to Theo.

They knew him well. If he didn't want to do something, no one could force him. And if anyone tried, he was capable of doing just about anything to push back.

A guy like him wouldn't just agree to a marriage because of Edward's orders.

At the end of the day, if Theo had agreed to be with Sierra, it had to be because he wanted to.

However, judging from Sierra's reaction, she probably hadn't figured that out yet. It looked like Yvette was right-Theo must have sweet-talked Sierra into it.

The private room fell into an awkward silence. Feeling uneasy, Sierra shifted slightly and turned to Theo before whispering, "Did I say something wrong?"

Theo chuckled, picked up a piece of fruit from the table, and held it to her lips. "No, they just like to overthink things."

Realizing what he was doing, Sierra quickly took the fruit, avoiding his gaze.

Watching their little exchange, Yvette and the others immediately understood. They were genuinely happy for Theo.

Only Douglas frowned and blurted out something that instantly killed the mood. "So you have a girlfriend now... What about Melody?"

Yvette's expression darkened. She looked at him unhappily. "What does that have to do with her? Mind your own business."

Unbothered, Douglas huffed, "Melody's had a crush on Theo since high school. She kept up with everything about him even after she went abroad. Just the other day, she was asking me whether he had found a girlfriend."

This time, even Daniel and Simon frowned.

"Are you out of your damn mind? Melody's just a tag-along. Theo never liked her," Daniel muttered.

Yvette had never been a fan of Melody. The two had been at odds for years. Compared to Melody, Yvette preferred the sincere and adorable Sierra.

"However, Melody has had feelings for him for over ten years," Douglas mumbled, sounding unsure.

Yvette shot him a death glare and clenched her fists like she was ready to punch him.

"I have nothing to do with Melody," Theo interrupted, shutting down the argument.

Sierra's face paled slightly. When she noticed everyone looking at her, she forced a smile.

Sensing the tension, Yvette quickly changed the subject, and Sierra went along with it, not asking any more questions about Melody. However, her body slowly shifted away from Theo inch by inch.

By the time they stepped outside the club around 9:00 pm., the warmth between them had faded, replaced by a noticeable distance.

Sierra could feel Theo's gaze on her, but all she could think about was what Douglas had said about Melody. Instinctively, she wanted to avoid the conversation. For the first time, she even regretted agreeing to this marriage on impulse.

She never hid her emotions well, and tonight was no exception. Every thought running through her head was written all over her face.

Theo's gaze darkened. He reached up and tugged at his tie, loosening it slightly.

Once they got in the car, one pretended to be asleep while the other busied himself with his phone.

Back in the private room at the club, Yvette glared at Douglas. She huffed and snapped, "Why the hell did you bring up Melody? You just can't stand to see Theo happy, huh?"noveldrama

Knowing he was in the wrong, Douglas still stubbornly argued, "What's so bad about Melody? She's gorgeous and talented. She and Theo would make a great pair. If he hadn't rejected her, they'd probably have a kid by now."

That was the last straw. Yvette's chest rose and fell rapidly in frustration. She grabbed a handful of pistachio shells and flung them at him before jabbing a finger at his face.

"No wonder everyone calls you Dumbass Doug. You really are a goddamn idiot."
