Chapter 388
(Connor Blackthorn's POV)
As I approached Victoria with the silver-edged blade gleaming in my hand, her fear intensified like a cornered animal. Her wrists were bound with reinforced nylon restraints, her struggles futile against my dominant werewolf strength.
Panic overtook her completely. She alternated between threats and desperate emotional appeals, hoping to manipulate whatever lingering feelings I might have from our shared past.
"Connor, don't come any closer!" she pleaded, her voice trembling with terror. "What are you planning to do to me?"
Her emerald eyes darted frantically around the abandoned warehouse, searching for any possible escape route. But there was none.
Sensing her tone was too forceful, she quickly softened it. She tried to play on my memories and loyalty like the manipulative she-wolf she'd always been.
"Connor, please, don't do anything rash-put down the silver-edged blade and let's talk this through." Her voice cracked as she tried to sound sincere. "Didn't you always say I was the only one you truly loved? Wasn't your greatest wish to have our family together?"
I watched her performance with cold detachment. My wolf snarled within me, remembering Emma's lifeless form on that hospital bed.
"I swear, if you let me go this time, we can start over," Victoria continued
desperately. "I finally realize my mistakes, and I see now that you're the one who's always cared for me."
Her words were poison wrapped in honey. "The comfort and security I chased with Ethan were illusions-I only ever truly loved you. Please, Connor, I'm begging you. I'll wait for you, no matter what happens..."
Before Victoria could finish her string of empty promises, my expression turned to ice. I advanced steadily, pressing the silver-edged hunting knife directly to her chest, over her heart.
Victoria's breath caught in her throat. She abandoned all manipulation, gripped by the terror of imminent death.
She shrieked, "Connor, killing me is against pack laws... please, don't!" Her desperation was palpable, her wolf shrinking back in complete terror.
My lips curled in a cold sneer. "A murderer like you wants to talk about pack law?" I spat, my eyes burning with grief and fury that had consumed me since Emma's death.
"You didn't care about the law when you orchestrated Lily's death. Now that your own life is threatened, you suddenly understand fear?"
My grip tightened on the hilt. The memory of Emma's digital diary flashed through my mind-the one I'd discovered hidden among her belongings in the Medical Den.
Emma had only ever wanted her mother's love. She believed obedience would earn Victoria's approval, even when it meant harming others on Victoria's orders.
The memory of Emma's final words haunted me: "Mommy, I love you, can you love me too?" But Victoria had never loved her. Emma was just a tool.
"Victoria, you twisted Emma's life from the very beginning," I growled, my voice thick with anguish. "I want to carve out your heart and see if it's truly black!"
The blade pressed against Victoria's chest, the silver tip piercing her skin. She gasped as pain lanced through her, icy sweat coating her trembling body.
I drew the blade slowly, slicing through fabric and flesh. Blood began staining her blouse, spreading like crimson flowers.
Victoria screamed, her body rigid with fear. But she dared not struggle too much, knowing it would only make the silver cut deeper.
"Connor, I know I was wrong... please, I'm begging you, spare me!" she whimpered through tears and blood.
I ignored her pleas completely. This was for Emma. This was justice.
I inflicted a deep wound and let the blood flow freely. When I paused, Victoria
trembled and was drenched in perspiration, thinking it was over.
But I raised the blade again with pitiless determination. Her eyes widened in horror as she realized this was only the beginning.noveldrama
Seeing her past affection couldn't sway me, Vistoria desperately invoked Emma's memory. "Connor forget about us-think about Emma! She loved me so much, if she saw you torturing me, she'd neve rest in peace."
Her words only intensified my rage like gasoline on fire. "You dare use Emma as a shield after what you did to her?"
My anger mounted to new heights. As I drew the blade across her skin again, Victoria howled in pain, her blood soaking through her shirt and dripping to the cold concrete.
I methodically inflicted wound after wound. Each cut was meant to make her feel the pain she had caused Emma a thousandfold.
Victoria's cries grew hoarse, but I remained unmoved. I left her suspended and bleeding, life ebbing away drop by drop.
(Victoria's POV)
As my vision blurred from blood loss and agony, a tall figure appeared in the doorway-Ethan Stone, the Alpha King. I recognized him through my tears and called out weakly.
"Ethan... save me... Connor's gone mad, he'll kill me... please..."
But instead of intervening, Ethan met Connor's eyes and silently handed him a small vial of Moonlight Herb Elixir. The specially compounded medicine would rapidly restore a werewolf's energy and blood.
I recoiled in horror, realizing the true purpose. Connor forced my mouth open and poured the elixir down my throat.
I tried to spit it out, but it melted instantly. The medicine restored strength even as it intensified my suffering.
The realization dawned-Ethan and Connor meant for me to endure more torture, fully conscious and unable to fade into merciful shock.
With the pain intensifying beyond anything I'd ever experienced, my body convulsed uncontrollably. I understood now-Ethan and Connor didn't intend for me to leave this warehouse alive.
Facing a slow, agonizing death, my mind raced with desperate thoughts. If I died here, Olivia Winters would have her justice, and Ethan would be free to pursue another Luna.
The thought drove me to hysteria. I began to laugh maniacally, the sound echoing off the warehouse walls.
I taunted Ethan's retreating figure, "Ethan Stone, you coward! You're not even as good as Connor! At least he avenges his daughter. You? You don't deserve your title, your lineage, or your Luna!"
Ethan paused, anger flickering across his features like lightning.
Hearing my accusations, Ethan stormed back to me. He grabbed my chin with a vice-like grip, his amber eyes lethal and burning with rage.
"Did you kill Evelyn Winters too?" he demanded, his Alpha voice commanding truth.
My sanity was slipping away completely. I grinned through bloodied lips, reveling
in the chaos I could still create.
"Yes! I killed Lily, I killed Evelyn-what are you going to do about it?" I reveled in the knowledge that my final confession would haunt Ethan forever.
"I stole Lily's kidney to save Emma, and I watched Evelyn die without lifting a
finger."
Ethan's wolf surged, veins bulging at his temples. With a roar that shook the warehouse, he seized Connor's silver-edged blade and intended to drive it into my
heart.
