Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1771

As soon as he said this, Wyatt suddenly seemed to have figured it out. "Yes. If I wasn't with the woman I love, what would be the point of having children? Would I be happy? Danica's tragedy is a prime example of this."

If it was destined for them to not have children, then so be it. Furthermore, it wasn't completely impossible for her to get pregnant considering the advancement of technology nowadays. Worst came to worst, they could still adopt.

In an instant, Wyatt was so desperate that he couldn't wait to rush to her side and tell her his decision.

Looking at each other, the Johnson family members were shocked. Nobody spoke for a while. They knew some news about the Castle family. From what they knew, Wyatt and she were supposed to be broken up.

After some time, Mr. Johnson finally spoke up.

"Wyatt, love cannot be forced, but don't be in a hurry to make a decision. Before you come back, we already discussed this. In fact, from all aspects, Ms. Yancey and you are compatible, and both our families match each other! You know, marriage is different from love. It is more like the union of two families. Love can also be cultivated. I am not trying to force you, but I hope that you can at least consider it. Emotions are everchanging. If an opportunity like this pops up, there's no reason for you to reject it outright. After all, what's the harm in meeting her once? You can just see how things go."

Glancing at the table, Wyatt realized that his father, after investigating Emilia, favored her as his daughter-in-law. On the other hand, just in terms of reputation alone, Waverly could not compare to Emilia in his family members' hearts.

Subsequently, the whole family began to try to convince him again. Even though he tried his best, he could not argue against all of them. Ultimately, he did not say much. This whole debacle had really opened his eyes and ignited his rebellious side. If anything, his determination was even stronger now.

It was eleven o'clock when he left that day. On the way back to the company, he took a detour on the road to pass by Waverly's apartment. It was dark, so he did not disturb her, but smoked a cigarette in front of the door before leaving quietly.

In the following few days, Wyatt remained busy with work. After learning more about YU Technology, he had no intention to work with them in the future. After all, the other party was willing to risk a business deal over their personal interests. He did not need a partner that was so unreliable. Thus, Wyatt decided to change his strategy accordingly. Initially, he was focused on helping them out. After the most recent meeting, he decided to search for new partners to develop their upcoming products. Once again, he was kept busy until the sky turned dark. Of course, all of these internal strategies were only made known to people of a certain standing in the company.

After finalizing his work, Wyatt was completely exhausted. He suddenly realized that it had been several days since he went to visit Waverly.

Due to the weather, his flight had been delayed and the initial talks were canceled. This meant that he had some free time. Wyatt bought a bouquet of flowers and intended to go have dinner with Waverly.

On the way, he kept calling her phone, but no one answered.

Upon reaching her apartment, he found that she was not at home. At the door, standing for a moment, Wyatt was starting to feel frustrated. He looked at the time and decided to try calling her again.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is not in service. Please leave a message after the beep."

"That's strange. Where has she gone?"

Since the last time she left, Wyatt knew that she already resigned. She only came back this time around for Cecilia's wedding. Since she was unemployed, where could she be?

Could she be shopping in this gloomy weather?

"Why can't she pick up her phone then?"

"It can't be. She doesn't like shopping."

"Has she gone to see Cecilia or her friends? There's no way she's on a date, right?"

The idea flashed through Wyatt's mind and he could not stand it any longer. He rushed out of the corridor, dialed her phone several times, and then quickly rushed to the car on the other side.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier, blurring his view. In the car, he picked up his phone to ask someone to check on her whereabouts. Suddenly, he caught a glance at a moving umbrella. Two intimate figures appeared in his line of sight. Immediately, he felt his brain explode.

"Waverly and... Franklin?"

Waverly quickened her pace along the way. She did not seem to be very happy with her company. "You don't have to accompany me anymore! I'm already home. You don't have to send me all the way. Thanks!"

He grabbed her before she could rush off into the rain. With half his body wet, Franklin's face was anxious.

"Waverly! Do you really have to avoid me like that? Even if we can't be together, we can still be friends. Just treat me as your best friend and tell me about your day. There's no need to keep your distance from me. I'm just concerned for you. I know a lot has happened lately. Knowing what an emotional person you are, it must be hard on you. These past two years, a lot has happened to us. I understand how you feel. Perhaps you might still be skeptical about my identity and my sincerity, but you cannot deny that we have both grown up now. You and I are no longer who we used to be. So, why can't we have a chance to get to know each other again?"

He held the umbrella closer to her.

Then, he whispered, "Do you want to hear what I've been going through for the past years?"

While speaking, his hand subconsciously wanted to grab her. In a trance, Waverly moved and her foot slipped. The next second, there was a loud bang on the ground.

"Oh my!"

"Be careful!"

Holding her, Franklin threw the umbrella away instinctively. The pouring rain washed over the two of them. Crouching down, he checked on her legs.

"The strap on the back of your shoe is broken. Did you get hurt?"

Her wet clothes clung to her body and she could barely open her eyes in the rain. Not to mention her awkward leg position, Waverly was looking miserable. She had no energy to argue with him. Instinctively, she shook her head.

"Let me help you over first!"

He took her hand and took a step forward. Seeing how slowly she was moving, he decided to just raise his hands and pick her up. Meanwhile, Wyatt witnessed this entire scene.

Franklin carried Waverly all the way to the corridor before putting her down, panting. He raised his hand and helped her pull back her hair. Their eyes met as water dripped down both their bodies. They looked utterly pathetic. Exchanging glances, it was as though they had returned to when they first met. Waverly felt her heart shudder.

The beautiful memories they created were still there, but a lot of them had changed as time went on.

Waverly wiped her face, not dwelling on her emotions.

"Since you have already chosen to 'die' and make that into a reality, why did you come back? Franklin, this isn't as simple as you returning from the dead. What underlying motives do you have?"

There was no such thing as an impenetrable wall in the world. Unless he was willing, how could a living person die so cleanly without his family knowing? She remembered very clearly how his family berated her when he first passed.

As soon as Franklin opened his mouth and raised his hand, Waverly stopped him.

"I'm not interested in what you want to do, and I don't care if you are the Franklin who is in love with me. If it's related to me, just tell me. Don't give me nonsense about loving me, not being able to forget me, or wanting to continue our marriage. The past is the past. If you really thought that, then you wouldn't be returning now, right?"

As soon as he appeared, he shut down Wright High Group. There was no way he

was being controlled all these years. Otherwise, where had he gotten all that

money?

"I indeed have my motives, but how I feel about you is also true. I have my reasons as to why I couldn't come back before. Not because I didn't want to, but I couldn't. One of my friends told me that she lost something... I have to get it back from you!"

Franklin's words were very implicit. Upon hearing this, Waverly understood immediately. "All this for that memory chip?"

God knew that she barely even remembered when she picked up something so invaluable. It had dragged her into the center of all this drama and brought so much trouble onto her.

"I don't remember anyone giving me something like that or asking me to safeguard it. I've moved several times already. It's either smashed or thrown away. Tell me what it is. If it's here, you can take it. Just give me a replacement in return."

She almost forgot to ask Wyatt about the chip. She didn't know whether he had found it and dealt with it yet.

These words caused Franklin to be a little confused. Did she really not know? He could only wish that he knew what it was. It would save him a lot of trouble.

"Do you know a guy called 'Stefan'? Did he give you a... USB of some sort? Or perhaps a recording pen or a phone?"

"Stefan? I've

never heard of that

name! Why would I want something like that? My phone is custom made and worth more than twenty thousand. Whether you know the man or not, would you accept it if someone gave you something so weird? It's not like it's super expensive. If you want it so badly, I'll buy you a box."

What Waverly was trying to say was that they should use their brains. Was there nothing else they could think of? They knew it was an electronic device, but why couldn't they think more creatively? It was hidden in a keychain!

He was also a little shocked and speechless. Franklin was silent for a moment. Waverly turned around and was about to head upstairs when someone tugged at her wrist. "Where's the memory card?"

"Would you bring that out with you? Aren't you afraid of losing it?"

"What about the reader?"

He rolled his eyes. In the end, Waverly directly waved her hand and shook himnoveldrama

off. "Why don't you just tell me it's in your brain? Think it through and write down a

list before you come to see me next time."

She entered the door and put hot water in the room. Just as she was taking off

her clothes, she heard a knocking sound on her door. Feeling annoyed, she wrapped a towel around herself.

"Coming!"

"Did you think of something again, or did you forget something? Franklin, are you

done yet?"

Opening the door, Waverly still had a helpless expression on her face. She looked

up and a cold face, which was dripping with water, came into sight without warning. She felt her head spin. Waverly's red lips formed into an 'O' shape.

"Wyatt?"

"Why is he here?"

Subconsciously, she still looked around the corridor behind him, but she didn't know that her small action only made things worse. Wyatt's eyes instantly turned bright red.
