Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 1201

Chapter 1201:

In the early morning, the sun peeked through the window, its soft golden rays landing gently on Evie’s face. The warmth stirred her from sleep, and as she opened her eyes, she realized she’d forgotten to draw the curtains the night before. She had been too exhausted after returning late to bother with it.

Now that she was awake, she decided there was no point in trying to fall back asleep. With no pressing plans for the day, Evie figured she’d enjoy a much-needed day of rest at home.

Emerging from her room, she headed to the refrigerator, only to find a dismal selection of eggs and yogurt, with the fruit looking far from fresh. The housekeeper, who had left due to personal reasons, hadn’t been replaced yet, and Evie hadn’t made any effort to hire someone new. This left her with the frustrating reality of not even having a proper breakfast.

Resigned, she changed into something casual, intent on heading out to grab some breakfast. However, stepping out of the villa, she froze in surprise—Waylon’s car was there again.

Evie hesitated, unsure whether to keep walking or go back inside. Waylon had been coming here every morning. Sometimes, even when he knew she wasn’t home, he’d linger, hoping she might show up. Today, he glanced at his watch, ready to leave, but when he looked up, he saw Evie standing there.

Without hesitation, Waylon stepped out of the car. His eyes scanned her casual outfit before he asked, “You don’t have work today?”

Evie didn’t know how to deal with Waylon. Every time they met, she rejected him, but he acted as if it didn’t bother him. He always came back.

“If you don’t speak, I’ll take that as I’m right,” Waylon said.

“By the way, have you eaten breakfast?”

Evie saw this as an easy excuse to slip away. She shook her head.

“I was just about to go get some.”

As she turned to leave, Waylon caught the edge of her sleeve but quickly let go, realizing his mistake.

“You don’t need to go. I brought breakfast for you. Beef steaks, hot cocoa, and…”

He started listing dishes—everything Evie liked. Evie stared at him, half surprised, half suspicious.

“You brought all this for me? You don’t have to do this. I told you—”noveldrama

“That you don’t need to take responsibility,” Waylon interrupted, finishing her sentence.

“I know. You’ve said it enough times.”

“Then why are you still…” Evie trailed off, unable to finish her thought. He always managed to catch her off guard.

Waylon looked at her earnestly.

“I respect how you feel. I won’t insist on taking responsibility for that night. But I hurt you, and the least I can do is make amends. You said we’re just close family friends. If that’s true, let me treat you like one. Is that too much to ask?”

Waylon had been thinking about it for the past few days. Evie was rejecting him now, and if he wanted to get closer to her, he needed to find a way to soften the tension between them. No matter what reason he gave, the first thing he had to do was break down the walls she had built around herself.

Evie was cornered by his logic. She had said those things, hadn’t she? And now, he was just acting on her words. It didn’t seem wrong.

“So, am I asking for too much?” Waylon pressed gently.
