Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 52

Chapter 52:

Josie stormed off, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. Madisyn turned to Andrew, her expression calm. “You have excellent taste,” she commented.

Andrew paused briefly, then let out a deep chuckle, his voice warm and rich, like finely aged wine. “You certainly have confidence in your company,” he said, watching her intently.

“Absolutely,” Madisyn replied with a smile. “I’ll make sure your raw materials are put to good use.”

Andrew reached out his hand. “It’s a pleasure doing business with you.”

Madisyn clasped his hand, the rough texture of his fingers oddly comforting. “The pleasure is mine.”

“Are you heading back to your office? Let me give you a lift,” Andrew offered, his eyes kind yet unwavering.

“My car is in the parking lot,” Madisyn replied.

“I’ll have my assistant take care of it,” Andrew said with a tone of finality, leaving little room for argument.

Madisyn, moved by his assertiveness and kindness, accepted the offer. The ride in Andrew’s Lamborghini was smooth and comfortable, the silence between them easy and familiar.

Out of nowhere, Andrew reached into the backseat and produced two small cakes. “I had these prepared by my chef. Why don’t you try them?” he suggested, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Madisyn’s eyes widened in delight. “These look amazing!” she exclaimed as she took one of the cakes, immediately captivated by its delicate presentation.

She quickly devoured the dessert, savoring each bite. “Your chef is incredible,” she said between mouthfuls, jealousy creeping into her voice at the thought of Andrew enjoying such luxuries daily.

Andrew watched her eat, amusement dancing in his eyes. “You’re quite the little foodie, aren’t you?” he teased, his smile widening.

Madisyn, still licking her fingers, grinned sheepishly. “I can’t help it. These are too good.”

“If you like them, I’ll bring more next time,” Andrew said, leaning back comfortably in his seat. “Or better yet, you could come over and try some of my chef’s other dishes.”

The offer caught Madisyn off guard, and she hesitated. It felt a little too intimate to visit Andrew’s home alone, especially with the recent attention surrounding them. She quickly calculated her options, thinking it would be better to go with Waylon or someone else present.

“Maybe,” she replied, her tone light.

They soon arrived at Natural Beauty, and as Madisyn stepped out of the car, someone in the building noticed. Mina, standing by the window, saw Madisyn exit Andrew’s luxury vehicle, and her mind quickly jumped to conclusions.

Mina had been harboring resentment since her bonus had been cut. Now, seeing Madisyn with yet another powerful man, she felt a surge of anger. A cold smile crept across her face. This was something she could use.

When Madisyn entered the hallway, she immediately noticed Mina’s smug expression.

“Something on your mind?” Madisyn asked, her tone calm but firm.

“Miss Johns,” Mina started with a sarcastic drawl, “you sure have a way with men. First Mr. Johns, now another. It must be nice being young and charming, right?”

Madisyn’s patience wore thin. “If you have something to say, say it.”

Mina’s smirk widened. “I saw you get out of that car. That wasn’t Mr. Johns’s, was it?”

“It wasn’t,” Madisyn replied flatly. “And?”

Mina blinked, momentarily thrown off by Madisyn’s bluntness. “So, you’re cheating on Mr. Johns and flaunting it? You’ve got guts.”

Madisyn couldn’t help but laugh. “If you think that, go ahead and report it,” she said, brushing past her.

Mina seethed with fury as Madisyn disappeared into her office. How dare she? Mina thought, fuming. If she wanted a war, she would get one.

Meanwhile, the news that Natural Beauty had secured the raw materials quickly spread through the company. The research and development team, newly invigorated, worked tirelessly to present a new formula. Susan, having poured her heart into the project, introduced several innovative ideas, earning praise from Brenda.

Madisyn reviewed the formula, her keen eye catching details even Brenda had missed. When she handed back a revised version, Brenda was taken aback by its brilliance.

“This is far better,” Brenda admitted, her respect for Madisyn growing. “With you and Susan on board, our new product is going to blow everyone away.”

After a long day, Madisyn received a call from Dane.

“Are you finished for the day?” his voice was gentle, as usual.

“Just about.”

“I’m nearby. I’ll come pick you up.”

Madisyn gathered her things and stepped outside to wait. A few minutes later, Dane’s car pulled up. But just as she reached for the door, someone grabbed her wrist.
