Not many things move me. I've had countless women attempt the tactic of trying to make me jealous, and not one had succeeded.

So, tell me why I feel like ripping this brunette's head off for placing his lips where they shouldn't be.

Athena is my ex-wife.

Hell I don't even know when this feeling started but fuck, my blood is boiling right

now.

I was happy and content with watching her dance and have fun with Rayen. The light in her eyes which has been shinning when she's looking at him made me want to watch more when the idiot came from nowhere and ruined the moment.

Rayen's eyes meet mine from over her shoulder, his little scowl matching the one I'm wearing. At least someone in this damn room gets it.

I watch her whisper something to him. I can't hear the words, but I don't need to.

She lifts Rayen in her arms with that gentleness only she has, and starts toward my table.

And for a split second, the rage turns into something else. Something dangerous. Something I shouldn't want.

But the moment Zayan's hand brushes her lower back as she walks away from him?

It's like the world tilts and I want to set it on fire.

I take a deep breath and fix my expression.

Cool. Blank.

But on the inside, I'm seconds away from snapping.

Athena walks up to me, her eyes flicking to mine with a smile she's trying hard to keep neutral.

And yes you guessed right.

The smile isn't for me.

When Athena looks at me, it's only hatred and anger I see in her eyes. But that shouldn't bother me because I feel the same.

I don't say anything as she reaches where I'm standing and extend my arms to take Rayen from her.

"Daddy," he says, wrapping his arms around my neck as I lift him. "She said I'm not two. I'm almost three."

I glance at her, raising a brow. "Is that so?"

She doesn't even bother to look at me as she smiles at Rayen, "It was good to dance with you big guy. Be good okay?"

Rayen nods. "Can I come visit you?"

Both Athena and I freeze.

As far as I know, Athena hates kids or is it just a child fathered by me? But why is she so good to Rayen?

I'm confused as fuck.

The silence stretches as I hold my son tighter, "Rayen, miss Dawson is very busy."

"Ohhh, but I'll behave." He complains.

Athena giggles and it sounds like music to my ears. "We will make a plan okay?" She leans forward and roughs his hair before walking away.

She returns to the same bastard who is grinning like an idiot. My blood boils knowing he's the reason we fell apart and the reason she had that abortion.

Feeling like I'll lose my mind, I nod at the guards before asking, "Where is Leah?" "We are not sure, Sir.” Hunter responds.

Someone taps on the mic signaling the start of whatever shit is going on here. I grab my keys and walk out knowing Rayen is already tired and should be in bed.

It's only after I place him in the car seat does he look at me with sleepy eyes, "Daddy?"

“Hmmm.” I pause, giving him all my attention.

"Do you think Mum doesn't like me?"

My brows meet in a deep frown.

"She's your mother, of course she loves you. Why would you ask that?”

"Teacher said Mummies are happy when they see their children. But mummy looks annoyed."

I pause at the door, where I'm rendered speechless.

What the hell am I supposed to say to that?

"She's just... tired sometimes," I say, forcing my voice to stay calm as I hold his tiny hand. "Grown-ups get tired a lot. But she loves you, buddy."

Rayen nods sleepily, but his eyes drift to the window, doubt still clouding his face. What the fuck has Leah been busy with?

As if right on queue, I hear a rushing sound of heels hitting the concrete.

Rayen is now asleep as I shut the door softly before turning my angry gaze to Leah.

"Alex." She smiles and tries to reach for a hug but I step back, placing my hands in my pockets.

"Where the hell where you leaving Rayen on his own?" My eyes are furious.

Not many know about my son's identity but I can bet you I know of so many people who would want to hurt me knowing he's My weakness.

Her eyes flash in fear, "Alex, I didn't leave him alone. I had to meet-"

"I don't give a fuck if you had to meet the president himself. You should have waited for me to pick him up

"I don't have time for this!" I'm beyond angry and if I'm going to drive my son,

having a clear mind is what I need.

I'm opening my car door when she stops me with her next words, "Remember the

shot I gave you to stop your heart attack?"

I don't respond but she proceeds anyway,

"It wasn't complete at that time so you can still get another attack. That's why I left him with the guards, Alex. Heft to speak to lan so I can be in charge of recreating the drug. This time" She steps closer,

"This time once you get the shot, your heart condition will be history."

I grind my teeth so hard Leah steps back in fear.

Dreams.

Goals.

All that shit never ends. My parents neglected me for eighteen years and I had to

be raised by nannies and my grandmother because they had ambitions.

Things they were chasing and things they had to achieve. They said it was for my sake and I hated that because it wasn't true.

It's not Leah's job to look after my health anymore. Ian does that and he's fifteen times a better and more advanced doctor.

Which she knows.

What I need is for her to be a mother.

That is what Rayen needs.

I don't need saving for fucks's sake.

"The next time you leave Rayen on his own, that will be the last time you'll see

him."

"Are you saying I should drop my career?"

I shake my head, manipulation has never worked on me. She knows damn well I've never opposed on her

career. She can fulfill her dreams while taking care of her son who

should be a priority for any mother.

But I feel like saying that outloud will just piss me the fuck off, so I get into my car

and drive off!
