Chapter 249
Inside the female guest room.
The gaze of Aurora and Sylvia simultaneously shifted towards the middle, towards Eileen.
Eileen, as always, exuded an air of nonchalant, her arms crossed in front of her chest as she watched the television. Her expression was unreadable.
She kept quiet, so Aurora and Sylvia didn't say anything either.
When Egbert entered the men's room, their television automatically shut off.
Silence filled the room for a moment.
After a while, the host came in and addressed the three female guests, "Ladies, could you please step outside for a moment."
The three of them were led to a closed room outside.
The host, with a smile, said, "Inside, are your husbands for the next two weeks. Please go in and take your respective husbands."
Eileen furrowed her brow.
Sylvia asked, "Who's my husband?"
The host chuckled, "You should ask yourself that question, how should we outsiders know?"
Sylvia suddenly understood, and whispered to Eileen, "We have to choose ourselves. If we choose wrong, it'll be embarrassing."
The host had already knocked on the door and opened it.
Inside, the three male guests were sitting on the couch. Seeing the door open, they turned their gaze towards the entrance.
The three men were all handsome, but the first one Eileen saw was Egbert in the middle.
Egbert was wearing a grey shirt, Eileen remembered it. He had worn it at home a few days ago, and she had teased him for being so formal at home.
In response, Egbert had calmly replied, "I'm trying to leave a good impression on you."
Eileen was taken aback. Ever since then, she dared not comment on Egbert's taste in clothes.
The host then asked, "Ladies, who will claim her husband first?"
None of them responded.
In theory, the one who was most confident and sure of who her husband was, should choose first.
Sylvia held Eileen's arm, preventing her from stepping forward, then turned to Aurora and said with a smile, "Ms. Bell, you're our senior and respected, of course, you should choose first."
Aurora was taken aback. She looked at Sylvia, then frowned, "Since you've said I'm your senior, I should let you younger ones choose first. You guys go ahead."
Sylvia quickly waved her hands, "No, no, no, if you don't choose, we wouldn't dare. Please, Ms. Bell, don't make fun of us, you should choose first..." Aurora clenched her fist. At this point, she suddenly remembered something and turned to Eileen, "Aren't you our boss? You choose first."
Eileen was startled, and Sylvia was also taken aback.
Sylvia blinked in confusion. "Boss?"
Aurora was about to explain that Eileen called herself their boss when Eileen calmly said, "Yes, she admires me and recognizes me as her boss. She volunteered to be my follower."
Aurora was speechless. She never said that! When did she ever admire Eileen? She just wanted to push the difficult task onto her!
Sylvia was surprised, but then she moved to Aurora's side, nudging her arm and whispering, "So, we're friends then. Are you a fan of Eileen, too? I am a fan of her work, what about you?"
Aurora wished she could slap Sylvia! She was infuriated! Indeed, Eileen's fans were just as crazy as Eileen!
Eileen then stepped forward, saying naturally, "Since you all recognize me as your boss, fine, I'll reluctantly take up the responsibility of the boss then."
Saying this, Eileen stood in front of the three men.
The three men knew who their "wives" were, but they had received instructions not to hint or remind them.
So now, they just smiled and watched Eileen, waiting patiently for her to make her choice.
Eileen looked at the three of them and suddenly said, "Look at you guys, so pathetic, none of them want to choose you. In the end, I have to come out and do the good deed of the day."
The three men were speechless at her comments.
Eileen then turned to the host and asked, "If I don't like any of them, can I request a new batch of people?"
The host didn't know how to answer her ridiculous question anymore.
The room fell silent.
Seeing that nobody spoke, Eileen guessed that she probably couldn't change them. So, she sighed and walked towards Hobson. Hobson was startled. His hands were placed on his knees, nervously rubbing his palms together. He glanced at Egbert next to him. Eileen's husband was Egbert. Was she about to choose wrong?
Hobson began to think about what he should say to diffuse the awkward atmosphere.
But before Hobson could come up with a solution, Eileen had already left him and stopped in front of Calvert.
Calvert smiled warmly at Eileen and intentionally extended his hand towards her, raising his eyebrows, "Are you choosing me?"
Eileen didn't respond. She tilted her head and looked at Egbert sitting in the middle with his arms crossed, his thin lips pursed, a cold expression on his face as he watched her.
Eileen raised her hand towards Calvert's open palm, leaning closer.
Just as she was about to grasp Calvert's hand, Eileen suddenly changed her action and grabbed Egbert's hand sitting next to her.
In an instant, it was as if spring had arrived and the ice and snow had melted - the coldness on Egbert's face instantly vanished.
Egbert finally smiled. He playfully pinched Eileen's fingertip and stood up, standing shoulder to shoulder with her, their fingers intertwined. Eileen looked at their intertwined hands, then looked at the camera opposite them, curled her lips, but did not let go.noveldrama
At this moment, Egbert said, "Let's go."
Eileen asked, "where to?"
Each of the male guests had a mission to pair up with a wife. Once successful, the husband could take his wife and depart first. Egbert chuckled lightly, "Home."
As Egbert took Eileen past Aurora and Sylvia, she noticed the look in Aurora's eyes as if she wanted to kill her. And when she turned back, Eileen found a similar look in Sylvia's eyes, even more ferocious than Aurora's.
Even when they had walked a considerable distance away, she could still see Sylvia staring at her like she was cheated on, filled with heartbreak.
Eileen sighed.
By now, they had reached the elevator door, a cameraman following close behind them.
Egbert, holding Eileen's hand all the while, noticed her sigh and turned to look at her, "What's wrong?"
Eileen gave Egbert a helpless glance, shook her head and said, "You wouldn't understand. Everyone thinks you're not good enough for me."
What do you think?
