Chapter 793 Splashed with Red Paint
Phoebe didn't really understand Madison's need to show off. If she were interested in Edward, there was no way Madison would be his girlfriend.
"No need, I already know how happy you are."
Madison had chased Edward for so many years and finally got what she wanted. She couldn't hide her desire to show off. She said, "Phoebe, are you afraid? Afraid to see how happy we are and regret rejecting Edward's proposal last night?"
Phoebe pinched the bridge of her nose. "I never regret my decisions, Madison. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."
"Wait a minute," Madison called out to her. "I came to tell you something else. Vanessa plans to sell Queen Entertainment, including the contracts of its actors."
Phoebe squinted her eyes. "Queen Entertainment can't keep going?"
"Her heart was never in running the company. The only reason it hasn't gone under in the past two years is because of the Reynolds Group's support." She paused, noticing Phoebe's calm demeanor. "Actually, ever since you left Kedora, Theodore and Vanessa have had little contact."
Now that she was about to marry Edward, if Phoebe remained single, she would still worry that Edward might fall for Phoebe again.
So she wanted to match Phoebe with Theodore. Their early remarriage would be very beneficial to her.
Phoebe saw through her intentions but didn't expose her. "How many years does Grace have left on her contract with Queen Entertainment?"
"Seven years. She signed a ten-year contract. Why, are you planning to pay her breach of contract fee? That's quite a sum." Madison's tone was slightly jealous.
She didn't understand why Phoebe had a special regard for Grace. They had known each other longer, yet Phoebe never tried to please her.
Phoebe squinted her eyes. "Go back and check how much the breach of contract fee is. I'll have someone contact your company."
"Do you really want to sign her?" Madison's face changed slightly. "What did she give you to make you protect her like this? It was the same three years ago, and it's the same now."
"Maybe it's fate," Phoebe said.
Madison's tone sounded a bit exasperated. "What fate? You just want to make me uncomfortable. If it weren't for you, my situation in the Reynolds family wouldn't be so awkward."
Phoebe was amused. "Madison, are you getting things backward? You were originally from the Sullivan family. If your parents hadn't been greedy for wealth and swapped you with Grace, she would be the Reynolds family's daughter."
"No wonder you're so protective of her. It's because of her identity. Does Grace know your thoughts?" Madison had a look of sudden realization.
Phoebe was very helpless.
Phoebe wondered why she was bringing up these old matters with her. People like Madison never looked for reasons within themselves. Their misfortunes were always caused by others.
"We can't see eye to eye." With that, Phoebe got up to leave.
Madison called after her, "Phoebe, if you promise never to see Edward privately again, I'll help you sign Grace to Superstar Entertainment."
Phoebe frowned slightly. Actually, even without Madison's request, she would avoid meeting Edward privately as much as possible.
But treating it as a transaction made Phoebe very unhappy.
She turned around and looked at Madison. "If you're willing to help, it saves me some trouble. If you're not, I'll just put in a bit more effort."

Seeing that Phoebe didn't agree, Madison got angry. "Phoebe, do you still have feelings for Edward? You don't dare to promise me because you can't let go of him, right?"
"How you want to think is your business. I have no obligation to explain to you." Phoebe finished speaking and walked out of the meeting room.
Madison's face turned red with anger. She had to think of a way to get Edward to agree to go to the Reynolds mansion to see his parents and then bring up the marriage.
She couldn't wait to marry Edward. By then, she would be a legitimate member of the Vanderbilt family, and no one would dare to look down on her.
Phoebe returned to her office, still feeling a bit agitated. It wasn't because of Madison and Edward. From the moment she rejected Edward's proposal, their lives should no longer intersect.
What unsettled her was Vanessa's plan to sell Queen Entertainment.
Queen Entertainment was something she had built from the ground up, investing a lot
of effort. When it fell into Vanessa's hands, she had been upset for a long time.
Perhaps what they couldn't have was always the best.
Now, she had the ability to swallow Queen Entertainment, but the thought of actually acquiring it made her uncomfortable.
Something that once didn't belong to her, if she got it back, what would others think of her?
Lori walked in, seeing her troubled expression. She tentatively asked, "Ms. Ziegler, did Ms. Reynolds come to see you about Queen Entertainment?"
"Yes, Queen Entertainment is about to go under and plans to sell." Phoebe looked up at Lori. "What do you think about this?"

"I think our company has the strength to acquire Queen Entertainment, but before the scandal broke, Queen Entertainment had no value worth acquiring," Lori said calmly. Phoebe slowly calmed down. "Tell me more."
"A few days ago, a scandal exposed many of Queen Entertainment's actors in compromising photos. Those actors have been blacklisted, and the breach of contract fees alone are enough to bankrupt Queen Entertainment. The few remaining actors will also be implicated in this incident and won't be able to secure valuable resources in the short term. If we acquire them now, not only will we have to pay a large acquisition fee, but we'll also have to take on their breach of contract fees. It's not worth it," Lori analyzed.
Phoebe suddenly saw the light. "You're right."
She had been too emotional. In business, the first consideration should be whether there was profit to be made. The current Queen Entertainment would be a disaster for anyone who took it over.
Lori smiled modestly. "Actually, you already thought of all this. You were just letting your emotions override your reason. After all, Queen Entertainment was once your achievement. You don't want to see it go bankrupt, which affected your judgment." "Thank you for giving me an excuse." Phoebe smiled bitterly. "Lori, have the talent director come to my office. There's someone I want him to sign."
"Yes, Ms. Ziegler." Lori turned and left.
After Phoebe finished her meeting with the talent director, it was already time to leave work. She packed up her things and left the company. As she took the elevator down and walked out of the Empire State Building, she saw a haggard-looking Vanessa standing there.
She frowned and turned to leave.
Vanessa somehow produced a bucket of red paint and charged at Phoebe aggressively. She grabbed the bottom of the bucket and splashed it directly at Phoebe.
At that moment, someone rushed out and hugged Phoebe tightly, shielding her completely. The entire bucket of red paint splashed onto his back.
What do you think?
