Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 1323

"Huh? When?" Debra was surprised.

"When you were born," Randy replied. "All Four Great Families got together. You were still a baby, so you don't remember."

Erica raised an eyebrow. "Didn't expect you to remember something that long ago."

Randy scratched his head. "I was too young to recall much. But that banquet was the fanciest I've ever seen. Stuck in my brain. Oh, and that's when I first met Marion. Back then, he was..."

Before he could finish, Marion kicked the back of his seat.

"Just drive and stop talking."

"Alright. No kicking."

Randy rubbed his sore back with one hand. Debra turned her attention to Marion.

"You were there the day I was born?" she asked.

Randy butted in, "Of course. All four families showed up. Your family was popular back then, and your dad was the life of the party. Having a daughter was a big deal. Influential businessmen from around the globe came to celebrate it."

He sighed dramatically, "Your family had its day."

Though decades had passed, Debra still remembered their past glory. After her parents died, everything crumbled.

Now it looked like her ties to the four families went way deeper than she'd realized.

"Did the Potters show up too?" Erica asked.

"Oh yeah," Randy said. "They rolled in with their usual creepy entourage. It looked more like a mafia movie than a baby celebration. Andrew was young but already acting like a boss. Then..."

Another kick rocked the car.

Randy whipped around. "Whatnoveldrama

you doing, man? One more kit

we're all roadkill."

Marion

shranked at him, and Randy . "F-Fine. But no monet

kicking."

Erica poked him. "Don't stop now. What happened next?"

"Nothing important. I'll tell you later," Randy replied.

"Come on. Don't keep me in suspense," Erica protested.

"Here we are. The destination. " Randy quickly pulled over.

From the gate, a security guard marched over, scowling at their parked car.

"No stopping. Move it," he demanded.

Erica stared. "This guy works for your family?"

Randy cringed. "Must be new.'

"

He straightened his tie and stepped out. "It's me. Open up."
