Chapter 385
Miranda noticed that Sebastian didn't bring it up, so she decided not to press the issue further.
"Is there anything else you need from me? If not, I'll head back," Miranda said, her voice casual yet curious.
Sebastian glanced at her, a hint of something unspoken in his eyes. "I just came to see how you were doing. Didn't expect to run into him, though."
Miranda wasn't quite ready to define her relationship with Elian, so she remained silent on the matter.
"You seem to have a lot of free time, Mr. Ashcroft," Sebastian remarked with a slight smirk. "I thought the elusive Mr. Ashcroft would have disappeared by now."
Elian raised an eyebrow. "There's always time for my wife."
That single sentence wiped the smile off Sebastian's face in an instant, leaving only a fleeting chill in his gaze.
Miranda frowned, wondering why Elian always seemed to go on high alert around Sebastian.
"Well, you two have a good chat. I'm heading out," Miranda said, waving as she turned to leave.
But before she could go, Sebastian grabbed her arm with a firm grip.
"Miranda."
His hold was a bit too strong, causing Miranda to look back at him, puzzled. "What's it?"
Elian's expression instantly turned icy.
Sebastian quickly released her arm and chuckled softly. "Nothing, really. I'll tell you next time."
Although Miranda found his behavior odd, she didn't dwell on it. She nodded, glanced at Elian, and then walked towards the mansion's entrance.
Sebastian had a patient he was deeply concerned about, and Miranda assumed he wanted to discuss treatment options with her. But with Elian present, a conversation between the two men who didn't quite see eye to eye was unlikely to happen.
The patient in question intrigued her. She had reviewed the unique symptoms and observed the patient via a video call. This wasn't just a rare disease; there seemed to be something more to it, something challenging. Otherwise, she wouldn't be so keen to get involved. noveldrama
Sebastian had reached out to her before she even arrived in Virell. In their circles; it wasn't hard for people with a bit of influence to discover her medical skills, especially since she'd treated Mrs. Anna Lancaster and Mr. Ashcroft. Though the elite were aware of her talents, they maintained a discreet silence about it. They knew, but they didn't broadcast it, nor did they gossip. However, if someone had a difficult-to-treat illness, they would reach out through the Lancaster family.

This made Miranda a respected figure among the high society, her value surpassing even her actual social standing. The Lancaster. family in turn, enjoyed even greater respect. After all, saving someone's life earns gratitude akin to rebirth.
Despite her youth, Lavinia often remarked that Miranda was like a guardian angel reborn for many.
Meanwhile, in the manor's tower, Crystal peered through binoculars, scanning the grounds outside. She focused on the two men standing there, then on Miranda, who had already entered the estate.
"Why haven't those two guys started fighting yet?" she mumbled, a bit impatient.
Sebastian, feeling Elian's gaze on him, turned away, seemingly uninterested in engaging further, and began to leave.
"Playing these little games is pretty pointless, Sebastian," Elian's voice called out, laced with sarcasm.
Sebastian's earlier actions were clearly meant as a provocation, a deliberate display for Elian's benefit. Elian understood; after all, men can read other men.
