Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands

Chapter 214: I Told You Birds Are the Most Scheming

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: I Told You Birds Are the Most Scheming

The three of them were about to confront Que Zelian.

Jinsheng was faster than them.

She stormed straight up to Que Zelian, grabbed him by the waistband, and dragged him aside. "Are you up to no good?"

Que Zelian grabbed her wrist and pleaded, "Xiao Jin, be gentle. The waistband might fall off."

"Don’t even think about lying." Jinsheng pulled him closer and stared directly into his eyes. "You’re misleading them, aren’t you?"

"Huaiqing’s the mysterious insider, but you’re clearly on my side." Jinsheng scrutinized Que Zelian’s thoughts and said, "Why are you playing the mystery man like Huaiqing now?"

"Because Huaiqing told me what he’s been hiding," Que Zelian answered, his gaze sincere. "In the prophecy, he saw you with Chen Yunji."

"Xiao Jin, the Mist Continent is very dangerous now."

Que Zelian sighed, trying to reason with her. "Even if you’re unwilling, having one more Beast Husband means you’d be that much safer."

"Since a Contractual Totem will happen eventually, why not do it now?"

"Even prophecies can change," Jinsheng said angrily. "Take the prophecy about Xuan Jiu’s death for example—twice I saw the same scene in the visions, but the details differed."

"That means what’s seen in a prophecy isn’t guaranteed to happen."

"I chose to stand neutral. I chose to refuse. That reflects my response and my feelings for all of you."

"But you? Que Zelian." Jinsheng bit her lip, her voice choking with emotion. "You made a decision for me, just like Huaiqing."

"Just because the prophecy showed me and Chen Yunji together, you all assumed that’s how it would be, huh?"

Saying this, Jinsheng’s hurt gaze fixed on Que Zelian as she took a step back. "So you misled Mo Jiao and the others, hoping they’d persuade me too and provoke my rebellious streak."

"Is it, in the end, because you don’t trust me?"

"Well, let me tell you: they failed, but you succeeded!" noveldrama

The last line, Jinsheng nearly shouted.

Chen Yunji sat quietly where he was, watching Jinsheng’s departing figure.

As he pondered whether he should leave now,

he saw Jinsheng storm back in again in a fury.

"You should rest early. We can continue practicing tomorrow," Chen Yunji said, noticing her displeased expression and thinking she was tired from their training.

"Wouldn’t it be easier to just borrow your superpower directly?" Jinsheng countered.

Chen Yunji nodded. "My power is unique. If we sign the Contractual Totem, I could manage all the Elemental Superpowers by myself."

"But your talent with superpowers is exceptional across the board. I believe even if you’re just replicating, it’ll already be enough."

"Then let’s sign it," Jinsheng decided.

"Huh?" Chen Yunji froze in place.

He stared at Jinsheng in disbelief.

Jinsheng held out her hand to him. "Didn’t you want to form the Contractual Totem? Since you’re willing, let’s do it."

"With me?" Chen Yunji asked again, for confirmation.

[With me? Really, with me?]

[Does this mean the Female Master... accepts me?]

"Of course." Jinsheng approached him, grabbing the lapel of his clothing and pulling him down. She lifted her face and planted a kiss on his lips.

Chen Yunji’s mind went completely blank, turning as white as snow.

Jinsheng raised an eyebrow at him and said, "Don’t keep things bottled up inside. I’d rather you tell me directly."

"Honestly, I’ve wanted you to be my Female Master ever since we were at Snow Peak." The familiar Chen Yunji, with his familiar zero-frame initiating posture, spoke.

"You’re so warm." Chen Yunji’s silver eyes, veiled by icy frost, softened into a smile as he gazed at Jinsheng.

A faint smile curved at the corner of his lips, his entire being radiating joy.

"Let’s go to the Star Stone Mine together tomorrow," Jinsheng let go of his lapel and said with a smile. "Rest early."

"See you tomorrow," Chen Yunji replied, full of anticipation as he looked at her.

Upon receiving Jinsheng’s nod of acknowledgment, the smile on his face grew wider than anything Xuan Jiu had seen in the past two years on Snow Peak.

Xuan Jiu, still struck with disbelief at how easily Chen Yunji became Jinsheng’s Beast Husband, couldn’t react in time.

Jinsheng, however, was already yawning and preparing to return to her Realm.

Before leaving, her gaze happened to meet Que Zelian’s.

Jinsheng let out a cold snort, glaring at him defiantly, before vanishing from his sight with a flicker.

Que Zelian’s smile turned bitter as the hand dangling at his side clenched hard into a fist, unwilling to release.

"Li and Shi Xie are finished fighting," Huaiqing walked over with a reminder.

Que Zelian turned around and immediately saw Li and Shi Xie, who had just been fighting with each other, now charging toward him with killing intent.

"The Female Master formed a Contractual Totem with Chen Yunji?" Shi Xie asked coldly, his gaze searing.

"I told you that bird is the most cunning," Li said, swinging a fist at Que Zelian. "So you really were leading us away!"

Li was the one who kept the closest watch on Jinsheng.

Don’t be fooled by Shi Xie’s appearance of magnanimity.

When it came to Jinsheng adding new Beast Husbands, the most opposed were Li in first place, and Shi Xie in second.

And to lure these two away? That was simple.

Make them fight each other, have a brawl—that’s all it took.

Que Zelian’s plan succeeded.

Knowing that his goal was achieved, he had already prepared for Li and Shi Xie’s retaliation.

His figure moved like the wind, dodging Li’s attack effortlessly.

"I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what I did. Back when you and Shi Xie joined this household, I didn’t object, did I?" Que Zelian said.

With those words, before Li and Shi Xie could attack again, Que Zelian’s figure flickered, vanishing into his room within the Realm.

The Realm was where Jinsheng was.

Ever since the Insect Clan’s descent, it had become their last and safest haven on the Mist Continent.

No matter how angry Li and Shi Xie were, they wouldn’t start a fight in the Realm.

"You’ve let yourselves be led by the nose like this." Li shot Mo Jiao and the others a glare. "And you call me out for drawing in rivals? This time, the rival showed up because of all of you."

"Scheming against your own people—you’re pretty adept at that." Shi Xie’s icy gaze swept to Huaiqing, still standing by the side.

In an instant, all the hatred-filled stares turned to Huaiqing.

Huaiqing cursed Que Zelian’s speed in his mind.

Before anyone could make a move, he too dashed into the Realm.

In her room within the Realm, Jinsheng was furiously hammering away at plush dolls.

One plush bird, one plush sheep.

Her palms struck them repeatedly as she muttered under her breath, "One slap for Huaiqing, two for Que Zelian."

She tossed the dolls together, her hands moving in a blur. "You two together deserve Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms!"

"Playing mind games with me!"

"Trying to control me!"

"Who’s the Female Master here—you or me!"

"How audacious!"

Suppressing her frustration, Jinsheng set her alarm clock to ring every thirty minutes.

Only after hearing the other Beast Husbands returning to the Realm to rest did she feel at ease.

At 3 a.m., as the alarm clock rang, Jinsheng climbed out of bed.

She snuck toward the rooms belonging to Que Zelian and Huaiqing and knocked on the door. "Get up! How can you sleep at this hour?"

Hearing noise from inside, Jinsheng turned and bolted back to her room.

At the door, Que Zelian and Huaiqing—just having opened it—stood silently in the dimly lit hallway, illuminated by each other’s room lights.

It’s over—this time, Jinsheng was truly holding a grudge against them.
