Once Wilbur had the protection of the upper dimension cultivators, he could get them to channel their energy into the formation and activate the portal for him to advance to the upper dimensions.

The thought excited him greatly, as laying down the formation would not be hard for Wilbur. After taking two days to prepare everything, Wilbur contacted Augheimer and asked him if he wanted to head to the upper dimensions with him one last time.

Augheimer shook his head. "No, I can't leave Lord Ramont at a time like this. I'm sorry, Wilbur."

"You..."

Wilbur had thought that Augheimer would be smart enough to have figured out that Ramont hardly saw him as a friend, and thus stop remaining loyal to him.

"I've made my mind up. I won't be going to the upper dimensions, Wilbur. I wish you all the best."

Wilbur watched Augheimer leave, feeling like this was such a shame. Yet no one could change Augheimer's mind, and maybe Ramont had found a way to quell Odysseus' anger so that he and Augheimer would not have to die.

Either way, there was no point in wasting any more time on the matter. Wilbur returned to the Robert family and set up a formation in his room before channeling his energy aura into it. The formation lit up, emitting a brilliant white glow.

A while later, a blurry figure appeared amidst the white light, speaking in a cold tone, "Are you the one who wants to sign a soul bond with me?"

"Yes, sir. I would like to gain your protection."

"Alright, then. Let's get it done."

Two soul contracts flew out of the blurry figure, one of them sticking to Wilbur's forehead. The other flew into the white light before both contracts disappeared at the same time. All at once, Wilbur could feel an energy surrounding him. The soul bond was successful.

"My name is Heaton, and you will be receiving my protection starting from now. However, everything I offer will come with a price. Every favor you ask of me will cost five hundred thousand gold coins."

"That's... a lot."

Wilbur was shocked to hear the price. The golden dragon bangle in the Dragon's Altar had only cost him two hundred thousand gold coins, but now one favor from an upper dimension cultivator was going to cost five hundred thousand gold coins. The figure sneered. "You don't have to take up the offer if you don't want it."

The white light disappeared with a flash, leaving Wilbur standing there in shock. Despite the fact that five hundred thousand gold coins was not really a large sum, and he could even head back to Buck Town to ask Felix for it. However, Wilbur was now in Tevinter Town. Besides, Augheimer was much more powerful than Felix and even he did not want to advance to the upper dimensions.noveldrama
