Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2907

Faye was clad in a beautiful wedding dress, hardly needing any blusher for how red her cheeks looked.

Wilbur was also looking dapper in a fine tuxedo, and the bride and groom went around toasting to their friends one by one.

Both their parents were overjoyed, knowing that their children had finally ended up with someone so wonderful.

Everyone else was also brimming with smiles, drinking up a storm as the night went on.

These people were all friends or subordinates of Wilbur and wanted nothing more than the best for him and Faye.

There was no wedding emcee, and the ceremony was extremely simple, but the atmosphere was incomparable as everyone was nothing but smiles.

The reception lasted all the way until late into the night, and even the newlyweds' parents got a little tipsy.

The banquet ended at last, and the guests ushered Wilbur and Faye into their new bedroom.

The newlyweds sat down facing each other, locking eyes.

Faye lowered her head bashfully, and Wilbur looked at her with a smile, but there was something else on his mind.

A moment later, he said, "Give me a second."

Wilbur entered his Dragon Altar, tossing everything he owned into it.

He no longer had any enemies and thus had no use for any of these things. Wilbur was planning to exchange them for some pills to extend one's lifespan, so he would have more time with Faye.

Right after he had tossed everything into the altar, the old dragon's aura filled the air.

Wilbur looked up expectantly, and the ancient voice sounded.

"You did well, Wilbur. It's time you found out about some things."

Wilbur stopped short. What was this?

Just then, a bone-chilling world appeared in front of him.

This was an ancient and boundless world, the ground a murky brown-black color

with countless black mountains that stood tall in the clouds.

The heavens were ablaze with red and green flames. It looked like a cosmic painting, oozing with luster.

The world was filled with nothing but tragedy and chaos, everything warped and twisted.

Countless people clad in various armors charged ahead on the ground. Behind them were gigantic humans radiating a holy glow, ordering the armed warriors to attack.

Ahead of them lay various bizarre creatures.noveldrama

They were blood-red all over, radiating a terrifying aura. Some of them were discolored green, foul-smelling pus gushing out of various parts of their body. Some were long and slender like bamboo dowels but had two heads with beaks attached to them. Behind them were countless more monsters, staring down at the humans coldly.

It was not long before the humans reached the monsters, and a fierce battle broke out at once. Many ended up dead and wounded in just seconds.

Wilbur furrowed his brows at the sight.

Just then, the old dragon's voice sounded in the air.

"This is the final frontier of the chaos realm, Wilbur. The ultimate battlefield for humans. If they fail to guard this place, all the monsters of the chaos realm will enter the real world and wipe out the human race forever in the universe. You're strong enough to join the battle as a warrior. This is every cultivator's ultimate fate and their ultimate responsibility.

Wilbur fell silent, taking in the tragic battle before him.

If he could only make for a regular warrior, it was clear how terrifying of a battle this was.

A long while later, he said, "I'll serve my duty, but I need to be with my loved ones for now."

"Oh, take your time. This battle has gone on for upwards of fifty million years." Following that, the old dragon's aura disappeared completely.

Wilbur let out a sigh before his expression darkened at once. "Wait, what about my grace points?"

Yet he did not get a response.

Wilbur cursed loudly, but nothing came out of it.

He had been tricked again, but all he could do was curse at the old dragon before storming out of the Dragon's Altar.

Faye saw the look on his face, and asked at once, "What's the matter?"

"Nothing. We should get some rest."

Wilbur scooped Faye into his arms, heading towards the bed.

He would complete his duty as a cultivator eventually. But for now, he had to

spend the rest of his loved ones' lives with them so he could enter the battlefield with no regrets.
