Chapter 670
Everett lit up a cigarette and took a deep drag, letting the smoke swirl around and obscure his handsome features. He remained silent for what felt like ages. Just when Alex thought he wasn't going to respond, he gave a slight nod toward a document on the table, signaling her to take a look.
Alex stepped forward, picked up the document, and started flipping through it. In the next instant, her eyes went wide with shock. "How... how could this happen?" Her voice trembled as she spoke.
Everett leaned back, exhaling a smoke ring slowly, his voice hoarse as he warned, "Keep this to yourself." His tone was mild, but the warning was crystal clear.
Alex was so frightened that she felt a chill run down her spine. She quickly clamped her hands over her mouth, silently vowing not to breathe a word of it. Everett waved her away, standing there as the darkness outside seemed to engulf him completely.
...
In the heart of Paris, deep in the night, Yasmine was enjoying a sweet dream of Mr. Everett arriving on a white horse to marry her. But that dream was shattered when she was suddenly bundled into a sack and dragged away.
She struggled and screamed, calling out for the bodyguards, but there was no answer. After what seemed like forever, she was dumped onto the ground. As the sack was loosened, she finally saw light again.
She found herself at a deserted dock, surrounded by shipping containers. And sitting in front of her was a man she recognized-it was Blaine, the guy who always hung around Selena.
Blaine lounged casually on a chair, pulling out a cigarette and lighter. He lit the cigarette, and for a moment, the flame illuminated his face, making him look both handsome and dangerous.
Yasmine felt a chill run down her spine. She was sure Selena had sent Blaine to get back at her. In New York, she had Mr. Everett's protection, but here, Selena had caught up to her. What a low, shameless move!
She swallowed her fear and raised her voice, "Blaine, if you dare touch me, Mr. Everett will make sure you regret it. You better let me go now, and maybe I'll consider letting this slide!"
Blaine chuckled darkly. He couldn't stand people who talked tough when they were in deep trouble. "You sure have a lot to say," he remarked, tilting his head just a bit.
An assistant, catching the hint, stepped forward and grabbed Yasmine by the hair, giving her two sharp slaps. Yasmine's head snapped to the side, and she tasted blood at the corner of her mouth, crying out in pain.
"If you make another sound, we'll cut out your tongue," the assistant threatened, raising a hand again. Yasmine bit back her pain, realizing Blaine was nothing short of a ruthless sadist.
Blaine took a few more drags from his cigarette and asked, "How many did we lose this time?"
The assistant shook his head, "When we got there, the villa was unguarded, just her, and we got her out without a hitch."noveldrama
This caught Braine by surprise. As far as he knew, Everett had arranged for some bodyguards to keep her safe. Why was there no one there? Blaine frowned slightly, then seemed to realize something, chuckling to himself.
His gaze settled back on Yasmine. The assistant asked, "What should we do with her?"
"Isn't she into seducing and serving men? Let's give her that chance," Blaine replied with a smirk.
The assistant nodded in
understanding. He gestured, and two bodyguards emerged from the shadows, hauling Yasmine toward a speedboat docked at the shore. That speedboat was bound for the darkest parts of Southeast Asia.
Yasmine would soon learn that leaving New York wasn't a stroke of luck, but rather the start of a nightmare. Her defiant cries echoed in the night air, "Blaine, teaming up with Selena to do this to me, Mr. Everett will hunt you down! None of you will get away with this!"
The assistant hesitated and asked, "If Mr. Everett decides to come after us..."
Blaine cut him off, "He won't. Sending Yasmine out of New York was his final act of mercy. Everett is a man who plans everything down to the last detail."
He knew Selena wouldn't back down, and he knew Everett's brutal methods. So,
he honored Yasmine's favor while giving Selena her chance for revenge.
