My Four Miraculous Treasures

A familiar presence—a man's presence—had joined her in bed.

Willow was frozen with terror. What he did, two nights ago... what if he tried that

again?

Even as she thought about it, one long arm reached out and clutched her shoulder, pulling her down onto the bed. Suddenly, her back was pressing up against his fiery, powerful chest.

A thin layer of fabric offered no protection whatsoever against the blazing heat he was radiating, causing her to tremble like willow boughs in the wind.

Understandably, she wanted nothing more than to get away from this man-but he held her fast in his rough embrace, growling into her ear, "Don't squirm, now... unless you're prepared for what might happen next."

Willow froze solid, not daring to move a hair.

Imprisoned in his clutches, she felt as though she was slowly being crushed against a solid steel anvil, as she was cooked by the broiling heat of his body, buffeted by his bellows breath, every fiber of her being yearning to submit to his masculine temptations.

Willow's heart beat faster, and she felt strangely short of breath.

She was scared of him-yet, at the same time, her body longed for the touch of this incredibly sexy hunk.

Willow's heart raced, her nerves braced for an impact...

...that never came. Jasper only wanted to cuddle, nothing more.

At first, Willow was all wound up from suspense... but then, her body remembered the exhaustion of not being able to sleep at all the night before. Her eyelids fluttered fitfully for a while... and then she was fast asleep.

When Jasper heard the woman's even breathing, he knew she had fallen asleep. He pulled her closer, and treated himself to a deep whiff of her scent. Soon, he joined her in dreamland.

The next day, Willow awoke with a start, sat up, and looked beside her. Jasper was already gone.

She tidied herself up hurriedly and headed downstairs. Looking outside, she realized that it was already noon.

She found the butler. "Mr. Freeman, may I leave yet?"

Leon Freeman shook his head. "The master said nothing about you."

"Well... what sort of mood was he in, when he left the house this morning?" If he was in a good mood, she might be able to sweet-talk her way to freedom.

"Why, did somebody do something?" Willow asked, genuinely curious.

Nervously Leon wiped at the sweat on his brow. "You don't remember, Ms. Nason? Your rampage through Master Hughes' private gallery, yesterday? You destroyed a great many valuable antiques."

"I did what...?" A light switched on in Willow's brain. Images flashed before her eyes.

Leon took her to revisit the scene of her own crime.

The whole floor was strewn with shards and fragments. The paintings had been ripped, torn... and chewn up?

Had she really done all this?!

Willow swallowed hard. Trembling with dread, she asked, "I wonder if you could

tell me... how much the damages here amount to...?"

Leon held up all ten fingers.

Willow hazarded a guess: "Ten... hundred thousand?"

"Ten billion."

This figure struck Willow with the force of a thunderbolt. Horrified, she staggered back a couple of steps.

No... during that brief hallucinatory trip last night, she'd managed to do up to ten billion dollars' worth of property destruction?!

Not even her life was worth that much!
