Chapter 677
Bradley set the fruit down on the table as he spoke, "I'm sorry for showing up so suddenly tonight. With the heavy rain, I could only grab some that from the convenience store. Sorry about that."
Cameron stared at him. So the thuit was actually for my family?"
She'd assumed Bradley bought it for himself to snack on, which explained why he'd gotten so many bagnoveldrama
Seeing how thoughtful and polite Bradley was, Jacqueline smiled warmly. "You didn't need to bring anything, especially in this downpour. Please, down, Bradley. You're actually the first friend Cam has ever brought home."
Bradley looked at Cameron with surprise. The first friend she'd brought home? Had Cameron been single all these years, too?"
Levi said, "Please have a seat."
But Cameron shook her head. "Brad, wait. You're soaked through. Let's get you some dry clothes first
She turned to Lance. "Lance, you and Brad are about the same size. Do you have any clothes he could borrow?"
A rare smile crossed Lance's usually cold expression. "Sure. One minute"
"Thanks, I appreciate it" Bradley said.
Lance nodded at Bradley and headed upstairs.
Cameron asked Edwin to prepare some food for Bradley
Levi and Jacqueline watched Cameron bustling around for Bradley, finding it quite amusing.
Bradley was soaked through and couldn't sit down comfortably.
are you from?"
Levi asked casually, "Where are
"I'm from Sterfall, Mr. Yates. Cameron and I were high school classmates and roommates," Bradley replied.
Jacqueline smiled, "Oh, roommates. No wonder Cameron cares about you so much."
A slight smile tugged at Bradley's lips.
Cameron thought to hersell, 'Care about him? I don't really care that much"
Levi continued, "How many people are in your family?"
"My parents and grandmother are still alive, Mr. Yates. I have seven brothers and
one sister. I'm the fifth child," Bradley answered.
Jacqueline looked surprised. "All biological?"
"One of my brothers is adopted," Bradley
ry said, referring to Evan
"Wait, do you know Nathan?" Low asked quickly,
At first, Levi didn't catch on. But when Bradley mentioned all those sons in their family, it clicked.
"Nathan is my father, Bradley said.
Surprise flickered across Levi's lace. "You're Nathan's sont Your dad and I go way back."
The world could feel huge one moment and tiny the nest.
The Yates family had lived peacefully on their island for years, keeping to themselves. However, once the island opened up, they conected more on
with the outside world.
Nathan was one of Levi's key business partners.
"Is that so?" A slight smile played at Bradley's lips. It was perfect
"Cam Lance had found some clothes and stood at the top of the stairs. "I put the clothes in the guest room. Your thiend can go up and change"
"Thanks, Lance." Cameron led Bradley upstairs.
Jacqueline smiled at Levi, "You look pretty satisfied."
Levi smiled back. "The Saunders family and ours are a good match."
"Cam has good taste," Jacqueline said. "Bradley seems like a decent, well- mannered young man."
Gavin came downstairs to find only Levi and Jacqueline in the living room. "Cam's not back yet?"
"She's showing her friend to the guest room, Levi said.
Jacqueline looked at Gavin. "Why did it take you so long to change clothes?"
I spent a while choosing what to wear Meeting Cameron's future husband for the first time called for picking the right outfit. But thinking about this man becoming Cameron's future husband left Gavin feeling uncomfortable. Someone was coming to take his sister away
Gavin adjusted his cuffs. "What's he like?"
"Who?" Jacqueline asked.
"The guy Cam brought home
Jacqueline smiled, "He's nice."
about it"
Gavin frowned. "Mom, you can't be this easygoing a
Jacqueline fell silent.
Levi looked at Gavin. "So you're saying when you bring a girlfriend home, your mom and I should give her a hard time?
Gavin stumbled over his words. "Dad, that's not what I meant. This is Cam's future partner we're talking about. We need to be careful here." They couldn't just let Cameron marry anyone.
"Gavin." Cameron appeared at the top of the stairs, catching the tail end of his words. "Brad and I are just friends right now."
"Just friends?" Gavin wasn't buying it. He thought, "Frends don't bring each other home for sleepovers"
Cameron came downstairs and noticed Gavin's outfit. "Are you going somewhere? Why are you wearing a suit?"
Gavin was dressed in a formal suit, as if he were about to attend an important event.
Gavin had no words.
Jacqueline smiled, "Cam, Gavin put on the suit to make a good impression on Bridley"
Cameron thought, 'A good impression? Does it need to be this formal?" Chapter 677
Gavin felt barrassed. He pressed again. "You're really just friends?"
Cameron answered, "For now, yes."
"That means there's potential for development Lance came down from upstairs, joining the commnation
Cameron didn't respond
Lance sat down beside Cameron and reached over to ruffle her hair. "Cam, don't
tell me you're getting shy?"
Cameron looked at him, "What do I have to be shy
Lance couldn't help but chuckle,
y about
Levi shot Lance a warning look. "Step teasing Cam. You're making her uncomfortable."
Lance shipped it off. "Dad, Cam's not six years old. She's twenty soc
Levi's voice turned protective. "Twenty-six or not, she's still my baby girl. Try
picking on her and see what happens"
Lance fell silent. He wasn't picking on her he cared about Cam too much for that,
Cameron smiled, "Dad, Lance isn't picking on me."
Lance gave her hair another
er gentle ruffle. "That's my girl"
Gavin stared at Lance's hand, fighting to yark it away from Cam's head.
A few minutes later, Bradley came downstairs. He wore Lance's black long-
sleeved shirt and gray pants that fit him perfectly.
The casual outfit made him look relaxed and laid-back, and he appeared refined and scholarly with his gold-rimmed glasses
Gavin stared at him, thinking, “This guy's pretty handsome, no wonder he caught Cameron's eye!
But looks were just the surface. He'd need to see what Bradley was really made
of Being Cameron's husband wasn't going to be easy.
Bradley felt Gavin's scrutinizing gaze and smiled slightly as he spoke first. "Hello, I'm Bradley, Cameron's friend."
Cameron said, "Brad, this is my brother, Gavin."
"Nice to meet you, Gavin," Bradley replied.
Gavin frowned. "You and Cameron barely
ly know each other. Don't get too familiar yet,"
Bradley wondered if Gavin didn't like him already.
"Gavin," Jacqueline sighed, looking at her son before turning to Bradley with a smile. "Don't mind him, Bradley, Gavin's very protective of Cameron. He's worried you might steal her away from us, so he's being grumpy." Bradley couldn't help but smile, "Don't worry, Gavin, I'm not qualified for that yet."
Bradley could completely understand how Gavin jelt. After all, Gavin and Osborne felt the same way about their youngest sister Camilla
Osborne couldn't stand Camilla's husband, Jade Masion, no matter what.
Gavin probably felt the same way, looking at him now.
As they talked, Bradley glanced at Cameron.
Their eyes met, and she caught the expectation in his pass, Cameron quickly
looked away. "Brad, let
eat. It's getting late"
After all this chaos, it was already past ten at night.
Bradley nodded. "Okay"
Cameron led Bradley toward the dining room
Gavin stared at their retreating figures, thinking how perfectly matched they
looked together. The sight made him even more uncomfortable.
His precious sister had only been back in their lives for a few years, and now somene
isomenno was going to steal her away.
Gavin's eyes fell on the fruit basket on the coffee table, "Who brought this fruit?” "Bradley did," Jacqueline replied.
Gavin immediately found fault with it, "His first time visiting, and he only brought
fruit?"
Levi said, "With heavy rain, where exactly did you expect him to go shopping?" Besides, Bradley hadn't planned to come over anyway
Gavin frowned. "Dad, this guy hasn't even done anything with Cam yet." And Levi was already taking Bradley's side.
"You're just looking for trouble," Levi said.
Gavin fell silent.
Lance watched Gavin get shut down by Levi and Jacqueline wisely stayed out of
the father-son spat.
in the dining room, Cameron had the kitchen prepare three dishes and a soup for
Bradley.
Bradley sat down, and Cameron took the seat beside him.
Looking at the perfectly prepared food, Bradley sighed, "Smells amazing"
Cameron nodded. "The chef's pretty skilled"
Bradley picked up his chopsticks and asked, "Did you eat enough at the
banquet?" Cameron nodded. Tm full. Go ahead and eat. Once you're done, get some rest.
You got caught in the rain. You need to take a hot shower to warm up."
"Okay." Bradley nodded.
Outside in the living room, Gavin stared at his phone in silence
Lance leaned over curiously and couldn't help but laugh. "Gavin, are you some
kind of pervert? Why are you watchin Are you spying on Cam and Bradley?"
Gavin hadn't expected Lance to come over. His ce darkened immediately. staurant security footage?
Lance clicked his tongue. "Gavin, are you really that worried Cam's going to get
stolen away? She'll get married and leave eventually anyway. What are you going to do then!"
The more Lance talked, the worse Gavin alt inside. Earlier, Cameron had
focused almost all her attention on Bradley, She'd practically forgotten about
Gavin, which bothered him.
Gavin didn't know if these feelings were normal or not. All he knew was that he
felt uncomfortable.
Gavin stood up. "Tisted, Going to bed"
After Gavin went upstairs, Lance frowned. Levi and Jacqueline exchanged
glances. About fifteen minutes later, Cameron finished dinner with Bradley. It was late enough to be considered a midnight snack,
"Where's Gavin?" Cameron asked, noticing his absence.
Jacqueline smiled, "Your brother went to his room. It's getting late, Bradley You should get some test too. If you need anything just ring the bell" Bradley nodded. "Alright, thank you, Mrs. Yates." He turned to Levi and Lance. "Mr. Yates, Lance, you should get some rest too."
"Cam_wait a moment." Cameron was about to follow Bradley upstairs when Jacqueline called out to her
"Mom?" Cameron stopped in her tracks.
Bradley headed upstairs. Jacqueline took Cameron's hand. "Cam, you know how much Gavin cares about
you. When you suddenly brought a male friend home, it bothered him. Maybe you should go talk to him?"
Cameron nodded with understanding. "Okay, I'll go find Gavin now."
Cameron went upstairs and knocked on Gavin's bedroom door.
"Who is it?"
"Gavin's listless voice came through the door.
"Gavin, it's me," Cameron said.
Within seconds, the door swung open. “Cam, did you need something?" Gavin
asked, leaning against the doorframe.
Cameron smiled, "Gavin, aren't you going to invite me in!"
A fond expression
crossed Gavin's face. "Come on in."
Cameron walked inside and settled onto the sofa by the balcony.
Gavin closed the door behind him and sat down across from her
"Gavin," Cameron said directly, "Are you upset because I brought a friend home?"
Gavin paused for a moment. Aber a few seconds, he shook his head. "Cam, you're overthinking this. I'm not upset." Cameron sighed, "Gavin, won't you tell me the truth?"
Gavin fell silent. Cam was too smart. He couldn't fool her.
So Gavin decided to be honest. "Cam, yes, I anya little upset.
"Why?" Cameron looked confused.
Gavin gave a bitter smile. "Cam, I've dreared of having a little sister my whole
life. Seven years ago, that dream actually came true. These past few year have
been the happiest of my lide..
"But now you're dating somennar
Cameron said, "Gavin, I'm pot det in

Cameron replied, "Because he got stuck on the island trying to get me fiome
safely.
Gavin sighed. "Cam, stop making excuses yes don't lie. In the living room earlier,
you barely looked away from Bradley
Cameron thought, "My eyes didn't leave addidn't even notice
Cameron looked at Gavin directly. "Gavin, even if I start dating someone, you
won't lose me, I'll always be your sister"
Gavin shook his head. "Cam, it's different" it really was different
Soon, Bradley would become the most important
ortant person in Cam's life and be pushed asid
"Gavin Cameron didn't know how to comfort him.
Gavin waved his hand dismissively, "Cam, don't worry about it I'm fine. Il deal with
it myself."
Cameron stood up. Gavin followed, rising to his feet.
Suddenly, Cameron reached out and hugged him Gavin's eyes widened in shock. Cam was actually hugging him first.
It had never happened before. Usually, he was the one who initiated everything,
and Cameron didn't always go along with it.
Cameron held Gavin gently. "Gavin, no matter if I fall in love or get married and
have kids someday, you'll always be someone incredibly important to
