Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1111

Chapter 1111:

In his current state, there was no way he could manage caring for both Dalores and Emerson on his own.

“I’ll entrust Dalores to you and arrange for someone to take care of Emerson,” Eileen said, organizing everything herself. Hearing her, Julio shifted and turned his head. “Emerson… Where’s he?”

“He is upstairs,” Eileen replied. She had come here after passing Emerson over to the caregiver. She wasn’t sure if he was still crying. “I’ll make sure Dalores is settled in the hospital. You can head upstairs and check on Emerson.”

Eileen then walked with the nurse to get Dalores settled into her room. Due to the circumstances, Dalores and Emerson couldn’t share a room, but with Eileen’s arrangements, they were placed in adjoining wards.

Julio made his way to Emerson’s ward and gently pushed the door open. When he saw the little boy lying in bed, he noticed that Emerson had fallen asleep after crying.

Emerson’s body twitched occasionally, making him look utterly pitiable. The chemotherapy had left his head bald, and despite his young age, he appeared far older than he should.

Julio had never imagined that he would become a father without even realizing it.

As he studied Emerson’s eyes and brows closely, Julio felt that Emerson bore a striking resemblance to him, perhaps because of their shared features. Yet, the boy’s plump lips clearly took after Dalores.

Julio stood in the center of the ward, staring unblinkingly at the sleeping boy. Occasionally, his eyebrows furrowed in thought. Once Eileen had taken care of everything concerning Dalores, she went to Emerson’s ward and found Julio standing frozen in the middle of the room, like a statue.

The joy of meeting his son mixed with the distress over the boy’s illness, creating an expression on Julio’s face that was beyond description.

“Leukemia has a high cure rate. You should stay calm—now is not the time to get too emotional,” Eileen said.

Julio shifted slightly and turned to face Eileen. “Thank you. I expected you to be angry with me,” he replied.noveldrama

Eileen was a bit surprised. “Dalores is headstrong. Even if you had told me about this earlier, it wouldn’t have affected our relationship. Back then, I asked her to leave. Didn’t you notice how determined she was at that time?” Julio said.

When he had told Dalores to leave, she had pleaded to stay and refused. Now that he was asking her to return, she probably wouldn’t agree. Her paranoia was closely linked to her past struggles with mental illness.

“Thank you for your understanding. I really hope you’ll take what I said earlier to heart.” Eileen gave Julio a reassuring pat on the shoulder and added, “The doctor mentioned Dalores won’t wake up anytime soon, and there’s a caregiver with Emerson. How about we grab something to eat now?”

It was already afternoon, and her stomach was grumbling with hunger.

Julio hesitated for a moment before saying, “I’m not really hungry. You and Bryan go ahead and eat. I’ll cover the bill.”

“We can bring something back for you to eat; you don’t need to pay for the meal,” Eileen replied. She couldn’t help but feel she owed Julio something for not telling him about Dalores’ situation earlier.
