Chapter 1116
Chapter 1116:
“Let’s bring Emerson back to Onaland and find the best hospital to treat him. He will recover for sure. Trust me!”
His words seemed to have a calming effect. Emerson stopped crying and turned his head, reaching out his tiny, chubby fingers toward Julio.noveldrama
Julio gently pulled Emerson’s hand back. The little boy looked at him with tears in his big eyes, confused and aggrieved.
Dalores said, “Emerson, do you know him? Do you want to play with him? What if he decides to leave you suddenly?”
Emerson babbled incoherently. He was just about eight months old, and his words were muddled, leaving Dalores unable to understand him. But then, Emerson looked directly at Julio, as if understanding Dalores’ words, silently conveying his desire to play with him.
Dalores frowned. “Do you like him? Are you going to abandon me? I’ll be so sad. Will you leave me for him? You are my everything.”
She crouched down, gripping Emerson’s tiny shoulders, forcing his gaze to meet hers. “Did he say something to you while I was asleep? He’s trying to take you away from me, isn’t he?” Fear overwhelmed her, and her mental state teetered on the edge of collapse.
Julio signaled to one of the security guards with a glance, who then approached and moved to a corner. Julio said, “I never intended to take him away from you. I just watched him while you were sleeping, without saying a word. You are his mother, and I can only interact with him under your permission. After all, I’m an unfit father.”
His voice was soft, and Dalores found herself drawn to him. He positioned himself in the left corner, maintaining a respectful distance.

Gradually, Dalores let her guard down. “I’ve been there for him every step of the way. Even if you are his father, you can’t just show up and take him away.”
“I will never do that,” Julio quickly responded. “I want to be with you. Let’s give him a home and ensure he receives the best treatment, okay?”
Home?
The word felt foreign to Dalores’ mind.
Though Julio had been her guardian for many years, she knew deep down that he wasn’t truly her family. He had his own home to return to.
The security guard moved slowly into Dalores’ blind spot. At first, Dalores hadn’t noticed him, but Emerson, nestled in her arms, caught sight of the guard and giggled. Dalores turned abruptly and asked, “What are you doing?” Before she could react, the situation shifted.
The man in front of her took Emerson away. Dalores struggled, losing her footing, and sprang toward him, holding her tightly by the waist as the security guards helped him.
Dalores crumpled to the ground, shivering. “Emerson…” she muttered.
“Emerson is fine,” Julio assured her. A scratch on his elbow slid down his wrist, dripping onto the ground under the harsh lights.
The doctors and nurses rushed over, but Julio raised a hand to stop them. He bent down and gently lifted Dalores from the ground.
Instinctively, Dalores wrapped her arms around Julio’s neck, her eyes locking with his, filled with a mixture of desperation and vulnerability. “Julio… Emerson is mine.”
