Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1157

Chapter 1157:

Eileen brushed it off, figuring it was just a passerby. As she walked back, she said to Gabriela, “You should start practicing how to say Milford. If you can’t say it when he’s back, he might get upset and refuse to play with you.” Gabriela tried, saying, “I… un…” However, she couldn’t quite finish saying “Uncle Milford,” her face flushing red with the effort as her lips fumbled the words.

“No rush, we’ve got two more days,” Eileen reassured Gabriela, gently pinching her cheek to make sure she didn’t overexert herself. “Don’t forget to breathe.”

Gabriela breathed hard to show Eileen that she was breathing. From the shadows, Milford stepped out. His eyes were misty as he watched the mother and daughter walk away. His worn-out clothes and dirty hands made him feel out of place standing there.

If he hadn’t climbed over the wall, he wouldn’t have made it here at all. He expected there was still a space for him in Eileen’s heart.

Having been released from prison early, he hadn’t told Eileen about it. He didn’t want to disrupt her life.

He hadn’t wanted to get his hopes up, fearing he couldn’t handle the disappointment if things didn’t turn out as he had wished. Now, he believed he didn’t deserve them. How could he possibly be worthy of all the care they had for him?

When he had been released, he had made it a point to find out where Zola was and what she had done. So, why did Eileen still keep him in her thoughts after what Zola had done to her?

Milford dabbed at his tears, turned away, and made his way to a secluded spot. There, he climbed over a wall and left. His eyes watered when he thought about Eileen and Gabriela’s conversation. He believed he needed to make sure they gave up on him and stopped looking for him.

In the Eternal Villa, the moment Bailee arrived, Huey blocked her path. Just as Bailee was about to park her car, Huey leaped onto the hood of her car and sat down.

“What on earth are you doing?” Bailee asked, her voice tinged with concern as she parked the car. “It’s dangerous up there. Get down.”

Huey remained unmoved. “You have left me. What does danger matter now? If I die, so be it.”noveldrama

Though Bailee was accustomed to Huey’s demeanor, she felt a pang of sadness now. “Come down; let’s go upstairs and talk this through.”

“What exactly do you want to talk about?” Huey rolled his eyes. “If you want a divorce, then just let me freeze out here.”

People kept passing by, casting curious glances at Huey. Given how long he had lived there, all the neighbors knew him well.

“What’s going on?” one of them asked.

“He’ll come down shortly. I apologize for the disturbance.” Bailee explained. “It’s common for couples to have disagreements.”

“If you’ve got issues, handle them at home,” another neighbor said. “There are too many people around here. They might end up laughing at you.”

The well-meaning neighbors, trying to intervene, were in their fifties and had always been kind to Bailee and Huey.

Without waiting for Bailee’s response, Huey turned to the couple and said, “Please help me out here. She wants a divorce.”
