Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1183

Chapter 1183:

Without looking up, Bryan responded, “Do you really need me to explain this? It’s your decision.”

He adjusted his sleeves, which were slightly damp from the bubble machine leaking water.

Feeling uncomfortable, Bryan went inside to change his coat after speaking.

“This isn’t my call. Clearly, you’re asking me to be prepared to take the blame for you,” Raymond muttered, not grasping Bryan’s meaning right away.

He believed Bryan seemed to want to protect the Deleon family, while Eileen appeared set on opposing them. Every word Bryan and Eileen spoke carried hidden meanings. However, Bryan didn’t dare defend the Deleon family directly, so his words were more suggestive.

“Eileen, what brings you here in person? Aren’t you swamped with work?” Before Eileen could say anything, Stella stepped forward with a warm greeting.

Eileen smiled and replied, “No matter how busy I am, I will come to visit you. Also, I’ve brought you a gift I picked out earlier.” She had purchased a scroll featuring calligraphy and painting. After spending so many years with Bryan, Eileen knew precisely what Stella liked.

Although scrolls of calligraphy and painting weren’t Stella’s top choice, Eileen had already bought nearly all of Stella’s favorite things. She had no option but to select the second-best option.

Stella’s slender frame stiffened the moment she heard about the gift. She quickly accepted it and said, “Thank you. You’re so thoughtful, Eileen. I owe you an apology for all these years.” With Eileen’s assistance, Stella settled into a chair. Eileen watched Gabriela chase after colorful bubbles shimmering in the sunlight.

Eileen smiled and then said warmly, “You did that for the Dawson family, so there’s no need for apologies as long as you’re at ease. However, if anything comes up in the future, I hope you’ll be straightforward.”

For instance, had Stella informed her earlier about her doubts about Gabriela’s identity, Stella wouldn’t have had to wait two years to recognize Gabriela as her great-granddaughter. Stella should feel she owed Gabriela.

Stella nodded vigorously, saying, “Yes, you’re right. I don’t think anything like that will happen again.”

“Indeed,” Eileen agreed, and then they watched Gabriela enjoy herself.

Suddenly, Gabriela stumbled and fell onto the grass. The freshly watered grass stained her skirt, turning it dark. Her pale face was also smudged.

Gabriela was momentarily stunned before trying to rise from the grass. When she saw Eileen watching her, she burst into tears.

Ignoring her soiled clothes, Eileen lifted her up, went to Bryan to get some clothes for Gabriela, and helped her with a bath. Gabriela played with Siena throughout the afternoon. In the evening, after Stella insisted they stay, they enjoyed dinner before taking Gabriela home.

Before long, it was time for Stella’s birthday party. The Dawson Mansion was adorned with festive decorations everywhere. Stella wore an elegant outfit, her white hair styled in a beautiful updo. She held Gabriela’s hand, and Gabriela was now free of any allergy marks.

Eileen and Bryan stood at the front, hosting and mingling with the guests. Due to the small number of Dawson family members, Jacob and Phoebe were also tasked with hosting duties.

Before the party commenced, Phoebe approached Eileen and asked, “Why is the Deleon family here?”
