Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1185

Chapter 1185:

“Mrs. Deleon, please behave yourself,” Bryan said, his eyes brimming with coldness.

With those words, Bryan turned and walked away, brushing off the spot where Presley had touched him. Turning around, he noticed Eileen watching him, her arms crossed and her eyebrows slightly raised, a faint smile playing on her lips.

“You have a handkerchief?” Bryan approached her and asked, his voice calm.

Eileen shook her head and replied, “What’s the matter? She’s not poisonous. She merely touched your shoulder. Plus, you already dusted off where she touched. I noticed.”

Her tone had a tinge of sarcasm.

Yet, Bryan remained unfazed. “I need to wipe my eyes.”

Eileen couldn’t hold back her laughter, but since others were around, she said, “You’ve been up to mischief all day. I told Raymond not to invite the Deleon family. How did they get in?”

Leaning against a pillar, Bryan frowned, glancing around casually, nodding at others at the banquet from time to time. Throughout this period, he couldn’t stop wondering how the Deleon family had managed to attend the event. “Stay here, and I’ll go over there to greet the elders of our family.” Bryan caught sight of some people from the corner of his eye. His grip on Eileen’s waist tightened. He leaned in and whispered in her ear before departing.

Eileen nodded and observed Bryan as he mingled with a group of men.

Suddenly, Amoura and Presley approached Eileen.

Seeing them, Eileen, without looking up, intended to leave, but Presley stopped her, saying, “Miss, why do you want to leave? Are you scared or something?”

“Could it be that I simply don’t want to see you?” Eileen responded coldly, her gaze distant. “Even though this is a Dawson family event, I won’t hesitate to do something if you cause any trouble.” She warned Amoura and Presley.

Amoura responded with a smile, “Let’s not speak like that. Why don’t we just smile at each other and be nice?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t force a smile for a rigid, plastic face,” Eileen replied. “I really shouldn’t smile. Faking wrinkles isn’t easy, and excessive injections might lead to complications as you age.”

She was not considering Amoura’s feelings at all.

Under the watchful eyes of the public, Amoura’s face flushed with embarrassment due to Eileen’s cutting remarks.

“Mrs. Clawson, is it really appropriate for you to speak to her like that?” Presley managed to keep her composure. “Despite the misunderstandings between our families, we are here today to celebrate Mr. Dawson’s grandmother’s birthday. You don’t seem to be acting like a hostess at all.” Presley defended Amoura only because she had accompanied her here and couldn’t allow the Deleon family to be embarrassed.

Before Eileen could scoff, she responded, “Hostess? She’s been married to Bryan for a long time, yet her only daughter carries Curtis’ surname. It’s questionable whether her daughter is truly a Dawson family member. Mr. Dawson’s grandmother has never publicly acknowledged Eileen and her daughter’s status. Today, she’s only helping Eileen with the child and allowing her to host the banquet because she has no other option. Given her age, Mr. Dawson’s grandmother might not want to admit it, but she has to rely on Eileen.”

When Eileen and Bryan had their wedding, Stella’s presence was barely noticeable. Logically, since Bryan had parents, Stella was the sole elder representing the Dawson family. Her behavior toward Eileen also indicated whether Eileen was truly accepted by the Dawson family.
