Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 849

Chapter 849:

“She works for the VQ Group. Whether her hand recovers is Mr. Finch’s concern. At most, he could offer her paid leave for recovery.” Jessica spoke dismissively, ignoring Conroy’s attempts to quiet her by tugging at her sleeve.

Bryan’s expression darkened.

“I didn’t know the VQ Group could be so devoid of compassion. I generally steer clear of such companies—”

Before he could finish, Conroy interjected.

“Mr. Dawson, this is indeed Jessica’s fault. She harmed Eileen. Since Eileen is my daughter, Jessica could apologize to her in private. But today, she is here primarily to apologize to your daughter.”

Bryan remained silent, his sharp gaze fixed on Conroy. Realizing his oversight, Conroy quickly corrected himself. “Apologizing in private isn’t suitable. Jessica, apologize to Eileen now. Even though you left the VQ Group, you might still cross paths with Eileen in the future.”

While speaking, he gave Jessica a meaningful look. Eileen eyed Jessica’s unkempt hair and then calmly rose from her bed to await the apology.

Left with no other option, Jessica said reluctantly, “I’m sorry, Eileen, for accidentally splashing you with hot water that day.”

“I do not accept your apology.”

Eileen’s response wasn’t loud, but it immediately brought silence to the room. Both Conroy and Jessica stood in shock, unable to grasp what they had just heard.

“What are you doing?” Conroy whispered, a warning in his voice. “Don’t cause trouble for the VQ Group. Isn’t Mr. Dawson’s support enough for you?”

“Mr. Dawson, since you support me in this matter, does that mean I can decide how to forgive Miss Marshall?” Eileen turned to Bryan.

Bryan lifted an eyebrow. “Certainly.”

Holding up her injured hand, Eileen declared, “My hand is severely injured, and she thinks a mere apology is enough? Not a chance! I want to flick her on the forehead.”

Bryan’s brow furrowed. Wouldn’t that hurt her fingers? A slap might be better than this. But Eileen was aware of Jessica’s ego. Even if it meant breaking ties with Conroy, she knew Jessica wouldn’t present her target for a slap.

Eileen’s intention wasn’t to vent her anger; she had other motives in mind.

Jessica stood in disbelief. “Eileen, have you lost your mind?”

“Enough talking, Miss Marshall. Just a simple flick on the forehead. Yes or no?” Eileen gave Jessica a choice.

“No,” Jessica began.

“Yes,” Eileen interjected before Jessica could finish her response. Conroy then chimed in, “Ah, it’s merely playful banter between you two. Go ahead, Jessica. Just let Eileen flick your forehead. With her hand injured, it couldn’t possibly hurt much.”

Conroy nudged Jessica towards Eileen.

Eileen targeted Jessica’s forehead and flicked it with force.
