The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1621

Robert nodded, "Yeah, why, got any other thoughts?"

Hearing their exchange, Yara turned her gaze to Mirabella.

"Nah, Denny's buddy nailed it. Other than the process being a bit of a hassle, everything else is spot on," Mirabella chimed in honestly.

"Yeah, advanced math isn't exactly a walk in the park compared to physics. A complicated process is just part of the deal," Robert replied with a grin.

Mirabella raised an eyebrow, thinking it was only complicated because the right method hadn't been found yet. But she decided to keep that to herself, considering she wasn't from the math department anyway.

"You're right, professor," Mirabella nodded, playing along.

Yara's friend, who had tagged along, shook her head with a smirk.

She figured this girl was just trying to make her mark. Anyone could throw around the phrase "the process is complicated." She doubted Mirabella even grasped what was in their math department's presentation.

"Yara, let's head back before we end up pulling an all-nighter on this project," Yara's friend suggested, her expression neutral.

She simply didn't want to waste time on more pointless chatter.

"Sure thing." Yara turned to Mirabella and the others, giving a polite nod. "We won't keep you any longer."

Mirabella nodded back, getting up to see them off, but Yara waved it off with a friendly smile.noveldrama

At the door, Yara glanced back but didn't spot the person she was hoping to see. Feeling a bit down, she quickly turned away and left with her friend.

As soon as the door shut behind them and they walked a few steps, Yara's friend quipped, "Don't you think Mirabella has a funny way of talking?"

Yara, a bit lost in thought, tilted her head, "Funny how?"

"It's kinda hard to put into words, just a bit pretentious, maybe." Her friend shrugged.

"I don't see it that way," Yara instinctively defended Mirabella. "She's straightforward, not one for games."

Seeing Yara's reaction, her friend held back but added, "You're just too nice. Some folks aren't always what they seem. A little caution never hurts."

They reached the elevator, and Yara pressed the button, saying, "We're not even in the same department. There's no need to be on edge."

"You never know, you might end up crossing paths more often," her friend pointed out.

"I know you're looking out for me. I'll keep it in mind," Yara said, linking arms as they stepped into the elevator.

It was odd how people kept warning her about Mirabella. Her mom had mentioned it, and now her

classmates seemed to have a

similar vibe... Yara lowered hol net

her gaze fixed on the floor, though

someone else's image lingered in her thoughts.

Not long after Yara left, Robert and his friends decided not to overstay their welcome.

"Mirabella, take care. About what happened at Riverside University today, I've talked to the

administration. They promised to sort it out, so there's no need to worry," Robert reassured.

Thinking about the incident, Robert felt a mix of anger and relief. That lake could've been dangerous. If anything had happened, how would he explain it to Mirabella's family or Dr Elliot?

"I get it," Mirabella nodded, seeing the concern on Robert's face. She thought for

a bit and then tried to ease his mind, "Professor, I'm actually a pretty decent swimmer."
