The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Dani was under the impression that even if the goons were not the best, they

were on the cusp of reaching that level anyway.

It turned out to be just her wishful thinking—when against the truly powerful, she

was a lamb at the mercy of the butcher's knife, no matter how many people she

brought!

"To be honest, I'm curious as to what you're thinking."

Frank snorted as he strode up to Dani. "Why dump a man who loves you dearly

for some prick you don't even know? Being abused in that state and still thinking

that you'd chosen wisely—do you actually have a brain?"

Seeing her launching, he knew she was not listening, and he tore her ear off!

The horrific pain jolted Dani to her senses, and she was left clutching what

remained of her ear as she stared at the seemingly handsome man.

She was under the impression that Frank would let her live even if she lost, but it

was once again wishful thinking.

He would kill her, and savagely at that!

And she was certainly right, since Frank had never expected Dani to come

looking for him.

He would definitely not allow a threat like her to survive!

On the other hand, urged by her instinct to survive, Dani turned toward Zein and

bellowed, "We're husband and wife! Are you really going to just stand around

doing nothing while I'm being abused?! Where's your conscience?!"

Zein simply laughed at her face. "You still think that I care about you? I'll be frank

—I really want you dead right now!"

And with those words, he charged toward the kitchen and soon returned with a

cleaver, ready to butcher Dani right then.

Horrified, Dani scrambled to her feet and ran, but because she was not watching

where she was going, she tripped and fell.

As she turned, she gasped at the cool glint of Zein's cleaver and kowtowed as she

cried, "Please, Zein! I know I made a mistake—just give me a chance, I'm begging

you!"

Zein growled coolly. "Who would

give me a chance if I do? Do you

really think I'm that stupid? If you

somehow regain your footing, who

knows what else you have in store

He was ready to cleave Dani when Frank suddenly appeared, snatching the

cleaver out of his hand.

Zein was as startled as Dani was, though Dani was soon smiling once she

recovered from her surprise.

After all, she was right about him!

With great looks come great personality—why would someone as handsome as

Frank hurt her?

"Just tell him to let me go, and I'll do anything you want!"

Dani even tried to hug Frank's leg, but Frank kicked her away. "You're getting thenoveldrama

wrong impression. Unlike me, your ex-husband shouldn't dirty his hands by taking

a life."

Dani shook her head repeatedly. "No

way! You're so handsome and so

skilled, kid—why help him with such

nonsense? Just let me go..and I

swear won't have anything to do

with Mr. Creston! I'll be a loyal wife...

I'll give you his company too!"

Frank laughed in amusement right

then. "I really don't need the money...

In fact, I wouldn't want to be lumped

with you even if I did. If you can

betray the man who saved your life,

what's stopping you from betraying

me?

"Character needs to be proven, and no one would fall for your rubbish as long as

they're no idiot."

Dani was astounded, as Frank's words obliterated her belief as a person.
