Chapter 297
"You don't have a shred of gratitude, do you?" Matthew asked.
Tracy was speechless, but there was some truth to what he said. What stuck in her mind, though, was that Matthew had also spanked her. She had completely overlooked the fact that he had saved her.
The sound of footsteps echoed at the entrance. Stanley and Lillian came back with groceries and immediately cheered up when they saw Rachel. "Rachel, what a surprise! Come on in and sit down. I'll wash some fruit for you."
"Rachel, when did you get here? Come inside and relax for a bit. I'll start preparing the meal."
Rachel looked a bit uneasy and said, "Stanley, Lillian, you don't need to be so formal."
Lorraine, back to her usual grown-up self, took Rachel by the arm and guided her into the house. "Come on, this is your home too," she said.
Matthew, watching the scene, nearly laughed. Lorraine did know everything.
Rachel's arrival instantly brought the house to life. The kitchen bustled with activity, and the aroma of food filled the yard. The happy laughter and chatter continued nonstop. Matthew hadn't experienced this kind of atmosphere in a long time.
He felt a surge of excitement. This was the kind of home he had always wanted.
It was a new day. Since it was Sunday, and Lorraine was sleeping in.
Matthew drove to Opulent Club and stopped at the entrance. Just as he arrived, Silas walked out, glancing around.
Matthew rolled down the window and called out, "Silas, over here!"
Silas jogged over and asked, "Are you sure you want to keep it open?"
He was genuinely scared. Running a clinic felt like being caught up in a fight for territory, full of conflicts.
Matthew laughed. Silas had called him early in the morning, saying he wanted to open for business. Now that he was here, Silas was having second thoughts.
He said, "If you're not ready to open, you should've told me earlier. I was planning to sleep in today."
Silas frowned and said, "I do want to open, but I'm worried about the Clarks and other wealthy people. They might spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to have me kidnapped."

Matthew gestured to the backseat and said, "Get in. As long as you want to open, I'll be there with you."
Opening a clinic was Matthew's lifelong dream. His mentor had given him a mission, and he knew he couldn't just be a regular doctor anymore.
Therefore, Silas had become his emotional support, and Matthew would do everything he could to support him.
Silas looked a bit embarrassed and said, "I feel bad for always troubling you."
Matthew curled his lip and said, "I don't see you feeling that bad about it."
Silas grinned and replied, "I should at least say something polite."
A "temporarily closed" sign hung on the door of the clinic, with several cars parked outside.
These cars were strange. They had started appearing here the day after the clinic had opened. People in the cars frequently got out to use the restroom and ordered takeout at noon.
In the distance, a car was parked in front of the clinic.
The people in the cars immediately became alert, peering through the windows at the approaching vehicle.
The car door opened, and Silas stepped out.
As soon as they saw Silas, they quickly pulled out their phones and started sending messages.
Matthew stepped out of the car and
frowned as he looked at the cars Previously, these same cars had beer parked here, as if they hadn't moved at all.
He walked into the clinic, a hint of suspicion flashing in his eyes.
Silas made two cups of coffee and asked, "Do you think someone will cause trouble today?"
Matthew glanced at the cars outside and said, "Trouble is always around. It's just a matter of when they'll make their move."noveldrama
