Right when the door creaked open, Tracy walked in. Rachel was a little disappointed to see her and asked, "Why are you here?"

Tracy grinned and replied, "Did I interrupt you? I'm here to get some water."

While she spoke, she walked toward Rachel's desk and picked up the latter's cup to take a sip.

Rachel shook her head helplessly and said, "It's not as if you don't have water in your office."

At that, Tracy chuckled sheepishly, "I forgot to pour some for myself."

Looking at the time, Rachel felt that Matthew would soon arrive, so she told Tracy, "Matthew is coming over in a while, and I'm heading out with him for some work."

At the mention of Matthew, Tracy suddenly remembered the promise Rachel had made back then. "You promised me to stay far away from Matthew the last time."

Rachel was stumped for a moment. Had she ever made such a promise?

But she was quickly reminded of it with Tracy's help. Back then, Tracy had severed ties with Matthew, and Rachel thought that Tracy had only fired him from the laboratory in a fit of anger.

Thus, she simply agreed to Tracy's request and forgot about it afterward.

Rachel didn't think that Tracy would bring it up again, but seeing that the latter was still mad, she smiled and said, "Alright, alright. I'll end things with him during these few days."

Upon hearing that, Tracy let out a delighted smile. "That's more like it. I knew you'd be the best!"

Tracy secretly took delight when she found out that she held a greater place in Rachel's heart.

At that moment, the door was knocked upon again.

Rachel became a little excited and said, "Matthew's here already. You should leave first."

Before leaving, Tracy warned and reminded her, "Don't forget to end things with him."

"Alright. I got it. You should go back to your office first." Rachel responded half- heartedly.

She was a little shocked to see Tracy holding a grudge for so long, and she guessed that it would take a few more days before Tracy's anger would be vanquished.

After replying with a hum, Tracy opened the door, only to see Matthew standing right in her face. She then snorted haughtily and returned to her own office.

Matthew ignored her and went straight into Rachel's office, asking, "Are you ready?"

They needed to discuss who they wanted to meet up with first to settle the matter regarding Silvaris Pharmaceuticals. Afterward, they would need to discuss how they should talk to the other party.

Finally, discuss what sort of trump card they would pull out in the final showdown with the Fuller family. They needed to lay out a full plan and make sure that they were thoroughly prepared for the current situation.

Rachel stood up from her seat and walked toward the door, locking it. Seeing her actions, Matthew let out a look of approval they were discussing a highly confidential matter, so it would be best to keep the doors locked.

By the door, Tracy retraced her steps back to the office after having only taken a few steps away. She wanted to hear how things would turn out when Rachel broke up with Matthew.

Once Tracy arrived at the door, she leaned in and pressed her ear against the door, holding her breath as she listened in.

After Rachel locked the door, she walked toward her desk and sat on the edge, looking at Matthew with glossy eyes as she said, "I'm ready."

Matthew was a little curious and asked, "What have you prepared?"

Then, Rachel flushed as she pointed at the items on her desk. "Half a pack of tissue paper, and a pack of wet tissues. It should be enough, right?"

Matthew stood stunned at her words and watched as Rachel sat on the edge of her desk. Then, he shifted his line of sight to the tissues she had prepared and was hit by a wave of realization.noveldrama

"You misunderstood me. I was referring to the preparations and information needed to defeat the Fuller family. You're preparing for..." Matthew trailed off.

Immediately, Rachel felt her face burning up with shame. Oh, how she wished the floor would swallow her up so that she would disappear from Matthew's sight right

It was far too embarrassing! How was she going to live it down?

By the office door, Tracy listened in confusion. What would they need tissue papers for? To wipe their tears away when they cry after their breakup?

Why was Matthew talking about how they should defeat the Fuller family? Did he not know that he was about to be broken up with?

"Just you wait, Matthew! Rachel's going to break up with you very soon! I'll see how badly you cry then-even half a pack of tissues wouldn't be enough to dry your tears!" Tracy thought gleefully.
