That afternoon, Zachary stopped by the CEO's office. Although it was almost the end of the workday, Anya was still busy handling some paperwork.

Zachary smiled and said, "I'm attending a class reunion tonight, so I'll be home a bit late."

"How late?" Anya raised an elegant brow.

Zachary replied, "I'm not exactly sure."

"Be back before midnight. Otherwise, I'm locking the front door, and you'll be sleeping on the streets."

With that, she returned to her work.

Zachary rubbed his nose, feeling a little helpless.

Did she say that he'd be sleeping on the streets? There was no way that would happen. If she didn't let him in, he could always get a hotel room.

However, he didn't say that out loud as he feared that Anya might explode.

As he left the CEO's office, he couldn't help but feel puzzled. He was technically the boss, while Anya was just the CEO of one of his mother's invested companies in Yelbric.

By all accounts, Anya was his subordinate. Yet somehow, their dynamic had shifted.

He almost felt like he was the subordinate instead. He even had to report his social plans to her.

After work, Zachary left the office ahead of schedule.

"Babe, couldn't you get off work a little earlier? I've been waiting for almost half an hour!" Ellen pouted and complained when she saw Zachary approaching.

Zachary rolled his eyes at her and got into the car. "Hurry up and drive before my colleagues see us."
