The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 118

Blake's eyes were narrowed. He spoke with such a faint smile that it was hard to tell if he was being serious. "Evie, why don't you beg me? Maybe I can consider saving you from this misery."

Evelyn could tell that Blake was poking fun at her. She ignored him and left.

Blake watched her receding back, but the smile on his face gradually faded.

Judging by how Evelyn was willing to accept this grievance, she truly loved Lucas very much.

Blake stared at Evelyn's back for a long time. He then took a photo of Evelyn's back from a distance and sent it to a contact that he had never chatted with.

"Mr. Grant, Evie will bite back if she's pushed over the edge. She has learned that you're celebrating Millie's birthday. It might not look good if she were to go and make a scene.

"How about you have Bluezen give Finlay Tech 1% more of the profit? Evie always does as I say. I'll help you console her, and I won't let her interrupt your romantic time with Ms. Moore. It's a win-win situation. What do you think?" Blake texted.

However, he did not get a reply. His message sank like a stone to the bottom of the sea.

Clearly, Lucas had chosen to be indifferent and ignore him.

Blake clicked his tongue in annoyance. Lucas truly did not care about Evelyn at

all.

...

Evelyn walked up to Justine, who was frowning and looking unhappy.

"What's the matter?" Evelyn asked and pinched her cheeks.

It was only then did Justine regain her senses, and she looked at Evelyn with a complex expression.

"Don't get mad, Evie," said Justine.

"What?" Evelyn looked up and asked. She continued placing the things neatly on the altar.

Justine gritted her teeth and grabbed Sebastian's phone. "Tiffany posted another picture to Instagram. Take a look."

At first, Evelyn was not that curious. However, a look gleamed in her eyes as she looked at the phone.

Tiffany only posted a single photo this time.

She was leaning against the table, holding a black tie with red embroidery. A part of a man's arm in a white shirt could be seen in the photo. Evelyn could tell at a glance that it was Lucas' arm.

"It's a perfect match for my red dress," Tiffany posted.

Justine was so angry that her chest was hurting. "What a bitch! I refuse to believe she has no idea that today is your mother's death anniversary. She got Lucas to wear such bright and vivid colors on his mother-in-law's death anniversary. What the hell is she playing at?

"She's clearly trying to make us puke! We're mourning over here, yet she and her mother are celebrating. Does Lucas indulge her that much? She doesn't even care what's right and wrong anymore and is deliberately rubbing salt into your wound," Justine hissed.noveldrama

Evelyn's expression gradually became gloomier. It was after she realized the sharp pain in her palm that she regained her senses.

Was Lucas truly going to do this? He already knew what day it was, did he not? Yet, he allowed Millie and Tiffany to attack Evelyn like this?

Sebastian's expression darkened.

"I'm just a little surprised that Lucas would care so much about Tiffany." Sebastian's expression turned solemn. "If he knew what day it is and still did this, then you've basically spent the last three years with a scumbag, Evie."

How heartless must he have been to Evelyn that he could do this to her openly?

They were a married couple, after all. Did Lucas not have a heart at all?

Evelyn fell silent for a moment. Putting aside the issue with the tie, she had already expected that Lucas would pick Tiffany's side, so why would she be disappointed?

At the bottom of it all, the cause for everything was Lucas.

No matter what intention Millie had while celebrating her birthday on such a grand scale, it was a fact that they were taunting Evelyn. And Lucas was the one who would always back them up.

Tiffany and Millie knew very well that Lucas would definitely side with them at a critical moment like this.

"It's time. We should start now." Deborah and Leonard walked over while supporting each other.

Deborah was already mentally prepared for it, but when the truth was placed right in front of her, she still sighed and said, "It's fine if he doesn't show up. We still need to do the things that we're supposed to do."

Evelyn suddenly felt like she had wronged her uncle and grandmother. Her husband was not a good person, which led them to be bullied along with her.

Suddenly, she did not wish to care anymore. She took a deep breath and said, "Granny, I have something to tell you."
