My Nephew Leonard 450
Hendrix remained in police custody during the most intense days of public scrutiny.
As days passed, the media frenzy gradually began to die down. But when the morning news of his bail broke, the police station entrance was once again flooded with reporters.
Microphones and cameras were set up, and everyone was waiting for Hendrix to emerge, eager to capture the latest scoop.
Dan was well aware of the situation. Initially, he had planned an alternate time and route for Hendrix's exit.
However, Hendrix rejected his proposal without a second thought.
The moment he said this, Dan immediately understood that Hendrix had his own plan. So, he didn't insist and simply followed the official procedures as required by the police.
Outside, the reporters had been waiting for a long time. They all had their eyes fixed ahead, holding their breath.
So, when Hendrix stepped out, they surged forward hungrily without hesitation and had him completely surrounded in an instant.
"Mr. Freeman, would you like to give your side of the story regarding this incident?"
"Did you and the deceased have any improper relationship with each other?"
"Are you aware that the victim's parents are currently outside of Amity Group's headquarters, crying for justice and demanding that you pay with your life?"
"Will someone be taking over Amity Group?"
They fired question after question at him. The microphones thrust toward him were like loaded gun barrels, ready to fire at any moment.
But despite the relentless questioning, Hendrix remained composed. Standing there, he calmly swept his gaze over the crowd before speaking.
"The truth will prevail. I trust the authorities to deliver a fair judgment. And one more thing-I want to clarify that I have no improper relationship whatsoever with Olivia, nor have I ever done anything to betray my wife."
The reporters had thrown countless critical questions at him. Many were more concerned about Amity Group's future. But of all things, Hendrix chose to emphasize only this.
The reporters were momentarily baffled. But without giving them a chance to react, Hendrix walked forward after saying his piece.
At that moment, Dan arrived with security, and they quickly cleared a path for Hendrix.
Naturally, the reporters refused to let him go so easily. Yet, no matter how persistently they pressed, Hendrix gave no further response.
Even after spending days in police custody, though his suit was slightly creased, his posture remained perfectly straight. That same pride and nobility he carried had not changed in the slightest.
Very quickly, he got into the car.
Dan had planned to
him on the company's situation. After all, Nathan had meticulously orchestrated everything-manipulating the media while simultaneously stirring up dissent among Amity Group's shareholders and executives. 1/2
Although Beatrice had tried her best to suppress the chaos, her efforts yielded little effect.
At this moment, the most pressing matter for Hendrix should have been handling the company's affairs. Yet, he seemed completely unfazed.
As soon as he got into the car, the first thing he said was, "Take me home.'
Hearing this, Dan was stunned for a moment before he quickly tried to persuade him. "Mr. Freeman, right
now-
Hendrix shot him a single glance.noveldrama
That one look was enough to make Dan swallow all his remaining words. In the end, he could only quietly instruct the driver to change their destination to Nivis Villa.
