Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1769

Wyatt's hand that was holding the fruits paused mid-air. At that moment, Waverly was fuming with anger. But with just one look, she seemed to understand his thoughts. So in the next second, she reached out and snatched the fruits in his hand.

In a huffy tone, she asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

He could sense her emotions from her tone and instinctively shook his head. He once again showed a stupefied expression. Ultimately, he just stood there, dazed as ever.

Waverly rolled her eyes and said weakly, "Come on up!"

After taking a look at his watch, Wyatt was about to decline when Waverly spoke first, "I'll just cook some pasta for you. It won't take long."

She knew that he needed to be back by eight o'clock.

Then, without further ado, Waverly grabbed his wrist and dragged him into the building. At the corridor, Wyatt took the fruits back and the two of them went upstairs together.

In the kitchen, Waverly prepared some meat and vegetables. She took out a jar of sauce and made him a simple one-pot pasta. She also made a small salad on the side.

Wyatt never thought he'd get the chance to eat a home-cooked meal made by her. Looking at the simple yet thoughtful meal on the table, Wyatt felt a warm feeling surrounding his heart. He had been eating outside food for days. Right now, he was touched beyond words.

"Aren't you going to eat?"

"I'll eat this!"

During their conversation, Waverly had already brought a bowl of fruits over. At the dinner table, he ate the pasta she prepared, while she ate the fruits he brought over. It was a very heartwarming scene.

As he chewed on his dinner, Wyatt felt like it was the most delicious meal he had ever tasted in his life. He licked the entire plate clean.

After dinner, Waverly pushed the bowl of fruits over to him. Then, she got up and washed the dishes. In the past, even in Casterwich City, there were servants at home. She rarely cooked, but in the past few months when she left, she had learned to be self-sufficient. As she learned to pass time, she also gained the habit of being productive.

When she finished doing the dishes, she felt something warm come up behind her. The next second, she fell into his embrace.

"Thank you."

She wanted to break free subconsciously, but Wyatt held her tighter. "Don't move! Let me hold you for a bit, okay? Just be quiet for a short while."

Wyatt's heart ached as he gently closed his eyes. It was as though she had to be very still for him to relax.

Waverly's heart trembled slightly as she pursed her lips. Her body stiffened slightly.

"Waverly, let's forget everything else and focus on you and me. Can you give me one more chance? What do I have to do to make that happen?"

She had to still have him in her heart. He knew that he had done her wrong. He was remorseful.

Compared to Wyatt's emotional outburst, Waverly had already gotten over her excitement. She slowly turned around and twitched her lips a few times, but she was calm, which was rare for her.

"Even if I give you another chance, are you sure you really want it and won't regret it?"

"I'm sure! I'm absolutely sure..."

Before Wyatt could finish his words, Waverly stopped him.

"If you choose me, you will never be able to have children in your life! Wyatt, have you really thought about this decision? If you choose me, you will have nothing but me in this life. You won't have any children, and it's even possible that you will lose all of your family! How long can you hold on? One day, one day, one month, one year, or ten years? Are you sure you can do this or will you abandon me and hurt me again? Don't act on impulse! I know exactly what your situation is. Perhaps you and I have been a mistake since the beginning. We are doomed to be apart. I can be without love, but I would never lower my standards just to fill the gap.

As she slowly turned around, she pushed him a way bit by bit.

"I date with the intention of marriage. I am looking for someone to spend the restnoveldrama

of my life with. Thus, I refuse to go with you if I can't have a name. Even if you agree, I can't accept it. I don't trust you or myself. I don't see a future for us."

Waverly wiped her hands and took off her apron. She was as calm as before. "It's almost eight o'clock. You should go! Next time, if you're busy, don't come over."

In fact, there was no need for him to come over ever again.

Wyatt felt like his heart had been submerged into ice. Wyatt suddenly realized that the issue between them was far more complicated and serious than he had imagined.

This time, he didn't rush to speak, because he also remembered that at eight o'clock, he had to go home.

As he turned around solemnly, Waverly felt a wash of disappointment. After all, she was still a woman. Even if he had to lie, even if it was just a dream, she hoped so much that she could hear him say that he would love her no matter what.

Unfortunately, the reality was cruel. Wyatt was silent as he made his way to the

door.

Waverly silently opened the door. Wyatt stopped, but suddenly turned around and grabbed her wrist. "Give me some time, I'll give you a clear answer!"

The strong feeling in his heart made him not want to let go. He just couldn't do it.

Deep down, Wyatt knew that apart

from the pressure from his family,

he also loved children and wanted to

have his own. Waverly was right. If he could not guarantee that he could be with her and accept her as she was, getting together again would only hurt her. Hence, this decision was a hard one for him to consider.

The corners of her lips twitched slightly. Waverly did not respond. She seemed to have felt something as well. The next second, Wyatt gave her a big and tight hug. This silent hug was the only thing he could give her!

After leaving Waverly's apartment, Wyatt's already heavy heart weighed down even more.

Wyatt drove home. When he entered the house, he saw that his family was gathered. His older sister and younger sister were present too. Even his father, who was barely around, was here.

"Dad? Why are you so anxious to see me?"

At this time, Margaret ordered the maid to bring out supper. "Wyatt is back?"

Raising his hand, Mr. Johnson said, "Let's have supper first!"

The family sat down and ate together. When everyone was more or less done, Mr. Johnson said, "How are you holding on? The books are several hundred thousand short, right?"

"Dad, that's just the books. They're just numbers."

There were several relatively independent brands under Sky Success Group but only Sky Success Group was on the market. The numbers in the books were nothing. It was the right decision back then to insist on not going public with their other brands.

Seeing that the two of them were acting as if they were talking about family triffes, the ladies could not help but smack their lips. Mr. Johnson smiled and said, "A crisis is just a turning point! However, I've already told you that all luck is like a roller coaster. Where there is a high peak, there will be a low valley. Life is the same. We were born with nothing, so we aren't afraid of starting from scratch again! Don't be too scared to lose. Just take it easy and do what feels right. It's not a big

deal."

"I know, Dad!"

While speaking, Mr. Johnson took out a stack of photos and threw them on the

table. The beautiful face of a woman suddenly appeared in his sight.
