Chapter 1512 Further Inference
Rylan didn't dwell on it too much. He figured maybe Micah was just using one of his tactics.
Could Micah have some hidden agenda?
Was he trying to win Declan over with a mix of kindness and authority?
The more Rylan thought about it, the more uneasy he felt, so he decided to report the situation to Sadie.
Sadie had just arrived at the hospital when she got the call. She calmly said, "Maybe he just wants to have a good talk with Declan."
"Alright, if you think it's nothing, then I'm relieved," Rylan said, still a bit puzzled. "I just feel like Mr. Clemens has been acting a bit strange since he got back."
"He had symptoms of memory loss before the incident. The toxins affected his brain, so it's not surprising his behavior is off," Sadie didn't plan to tell Rylan the whole truth. "We need to be more understanding and patient with him."
"I understand," Rylan replied, feeling a bit sad.
"Take good care of him. I have some things to handle."
"Yes, Mrs. Clemens."
After hanging up, Sadie frowned. Declan had already gone to see him, and that person had met with him privately.
"Should we capture Declan and interrogate him?" Annika knew what Sadie was thinking.
"No need," Sadie analyzed rationally. "That person met Declan at Hillside Villa in front of so many people. He wouldn't do anything too extreme; otherwise, it would turn into
a public confrontation, and all the careful planning would be wasted."
"So what should we do now?" Annika asked.
"Nothing. Just wait for them to expose themselves," Sadie quickened her pace and walked into the hospital room. "Mia."
Mia had been through therapy sessions with a psychologist and wasn't as terrified as before, but she was still uneasy.

"Mia, it's me, your mommy. Don't you recognize me?"

Seeing Mia like this broke Sadie's heart. She reached out and hugged her tightly. "Mia, don't be afraid. I'm here. No one can hurt you."
Mia didn't speak or move. She just curled up in Sadie's arms, trembling with fear.
"Mia, what's wrong?" Sadie was very worried. "Why don't you recognize me?"
Mia still didn't speak. She didn't even dare to look at Sadie. She lowered her head, panicked, and retreated to the head of the bed, clutching a pillow and hiding under the covers, shaking uncontrollably.
"Mia."
"Ms. James!"
At that moment, Dahlia rushed in and pulled Sadie aside. "Mia is still in shock. Let's not rush her. Give her some time."
"How could this happen?" Sadie was frantic. "Why doesn't she recognize me?"
"Let's talk in my office," Dahlia suggested, trying to calm her down. "Don't worry. There are plenty of medical staff here to take care of her."
"Annika, stay here," Sadie instructed.
"Yes."
Sadie followed Dahlia to her office, where Dahlia had arranged for the child psychologist to explain the situation.
"Ms. James, we've conducted various tests on Mia and found that she experienced severe trauma. She even doubts those close to her. We have reason to believe she might have been harmed or threatened by someone she trusted."noveldrama
"Harmed or threatened by someone she trusted?" Sadie felt a chill run down her spine. "How could that be? Her family would never hurt her."
"We find it hard to believe too, but the test results are clear. In fact, many children are harmed by those close to them. Ms. James, you might want to consider if there's anyone suspicious."
As Sadie listened, a bold theory formed in her mind.
Could it be that the person who looked exactly like Micah had scared Mia on the night of the fire?
What do you think?
