Chapter 1775
Chapter 1775:
Rhys hadn’t joined Robbie and the others earlier because he had been busy neutralizing Errol’s secret fighters. Those fighters, though strong, lacked moral understanding and needed to be prevented from falling into the wrong hands to avoid the rise of another Errol.
In Rhys’s embrace, Harlee tilted her head back and playfully tapped his nose, her manner both enchanting and gentle.
“Did you manage to take care of everything?”
Her tone was casual, yet alluring to Rhys.
Rhys tightened his hold around her waist, intertwining his fingers with hers. His voice was deep and soothing as he said,
“Yes, everything’s settled. Errol had been exploiting those old connections for years to attract deranged scientists here, using them to develop biochemical weapons. Over a hundred have endured unbearable suffering here. They deserved to die miserably.”
A flicker of rage crossed Harlee’s eyes. In the future, she would ensure that group of scientists endured endless torment, forcing them to atone for their actions before the souls of the dead.
After a prolonged hesitation, Serena gathered the courage to approach them. She bowed her head slightly, her voice quivering as she said,
“Harlee, thank you.”
Serena was aware that if it weren’t for her, Errol and Moshe would have faced far worse than death by fire. Harlee had countless methods at her disposal for dealing with enemies, and for them, death was almost a mercy.
Serena didn’t particularly care about the Happer family, yet they were her kin. If it had been up to her, she would have preferred to spare them from torture. For this, she felt deep gratitude.
“You know how much I hate sentimental things.” Harlee’s words were cool, yet they moved Serena to tears. Serena nodded vigorously and then quietly retreated with her head bowed.

Rhys glanced at Harlee, a slight smile playing on his lips.
“You’re really quite compassionate.”
Only Rhys could make such a statement with a straight face.
Harlee tilted her head, flashing him a mischievous smile.
“Rhys, if anyone else heard you say that, they’d laugh you off the stage.”
She didn’t think she was compassionate.
“They wouldn’t dare,” Rhys chuckled.
“Exactly, they lack the courage.”
Stepping out of Rhys’ embrace, Harlee took his hand, her lips curving into a charming smile.noveldrama
“Let’s head home.”
“Yes, let’s go home.”
With a broad stride, Rhys swept her into his arms and they climbed into the car.
Inside the car, Harlee settled comfortably in Rhys’ embrace. Though fully dressed, she exuded a presence that filled the air with her unique scent and warmth. Rhys found himself growing increasingly restless. Memories of their first intimate encounter in the car came flooding back. Her body, her breaths, her… Damn it, he was aroused. He was once again losing the self-control he had managed to regain, all thanks to Harlee.
Noticing his heightened state, Harlee’s lips curled in amusement.
