Chapter 1780
Chapter 1780:
“I should have known…” Rhys sighed in resignation as he stared at the empty bed. With her father’s and Felix’s safety in jeopardy, how could Harlee rest? But… couldn’t she rely on him just this once?
“Never mind.” Rhys shook his head and hurried downstairs. He turned to Brenton and Kareem. “Lee has probably left for that factory. I’m heading out now.”
Brenton and Kareem weren’t surprised. They knew their sister. Distressed as she might be, her first instinct was always to confront the threat directly.
“Alright, let’s stick to the plan.” After exchanging a few words, Brenton and Kareem split up, coordinating their efforts with Rhys via phone.
As Harlee made her way to the suburbs, her eyes were red from lack of sleep. She had been unable to rest, unwilling to remain idle at the Sanderson family’s house. Pretending to sleep had only eased Rhys’s concerns temporarily. But she couldn’t just lie there and do nothing. Her mother had looked ready to collapse, the entire family was on edge, and the suffocating atmosphere made time crawl. How could she possibly sleep?
Given that Celine had managed to evade the Twilight members for over ten hours, Harlee suspected she had external support—but she couldn’t yet determine who would dare challenge her.
Robbie had already relayed Celine’s exact location, now surrounded by Twilight operatives.noveldrama
Harlee planned to use Celine’s hatred toward her as bait, hoping that emotional instability would make Celine drop her guard long enough for Rhys to rescue her father and Felix.
“Don’t try to stop me. I’m the only one who can provoke Celine into showing her hand,” Harlee said firmly after answering Rhys’s call. Any lingering feelings Celine might have had for Thiago no longer mattered. His presence would only deepen her rage. That made Harlee the most suitable person to face her.
“I understand. Just remember, Lee, I’ll protect your dad and Felix with my life. You have to trust me.” Rhys’s voice was steady, but laced with resignation, knowing he couldn’t change her mind.

Harlee paused for a moment. “It’s not that I don’t trust you. It’s just…”
“I know,” Rhys replied gently, his voice warm and calming. “Lee, you don’t have to explain anything to me. I understand you.”
Harlee eased up on the gas pedal, let out a deep sigh, then picked up speed again, her voice carrying a hint of playful mischief. “Rhys, once this is all behind us, I’ll be counting on you to keep me safe.”
“Of course. I’m committed to protecting you and our child forever.”
In a deserted factory on the outskirts, the wind howled fiercely.
As the sound of an approaching car grew louder, those hidden within the factory gathered at the center.
Celine sat at the heart of the gathering, with Lonnie securely bound at her feet. Nearby, in a custom-built glass case, lay a one-year-old child, his condition uncertain.
Harlee’s car was the first to arrive. She stepped out, dressed in a black suit and military boots, her presence radiating lethal determination.
Celine observed Harlee on a monitor, her demeanor calm. She brimmed with confidence, a testament to her meticulous planning.
“Harlee, did you ever think we’d meet again?” Celine swaggered out from the center of the factory to confront her.
