Chapter 2086
He was making this call to Rachel, the only person who could save him now was his boss.
When Rachel picked up, she sounded puzzled.
"Dave, didn't you retire? Why are you calling me?"
Dave was just a codename he used when he worked under Rachel, mainly dealing with cyber security tasks.
After he made some enemies in Greenfield, he fled to North America, using his skills to make some pocket money.
Though he had made plenty of money before, more never hurt anybody.
"Boss, I need your help this time. Do you know Fitch Haskins and Zoey March? I got nabbed by young master Beck, could you please make a call for me? Otherwise, I might lose my legs."
When Beck heard Dave mention Fitch, his brow raised.
He didn't think this had anything to do with Fitch, but clearly, Dave was hoping Fitch would intervene.
Rachel was silent for a moment on the other end. She knew Fitch, but Fitch was currently unable to locate Zoey and might not be inclined to do her this favor.
"Boss, if you don't help me, I'm really going to end up crippled."
"Shut up, why the hell did you go messing with the Sanders family?"
Rachel loathed dealing with these privileged kids.
Dave couldn't argue much at this point. He fake cried a bit, begging her to find someone to bail him out before hanging up.
Dave had helped hide Zoey's whereabouts back in Greenfield, so now the only people he could think of were Zoey and Fitch.noveldrama
Beck grabbed the phone, not immediately ordering his legs to be broken but instead scrutinized him closely.
Dave swallowed hard, not daring to say anything more.
Five minutes later, Beck got a call.
Dave sighed in relief, assuming his cavalry had arrived.
Indeed, it was Fitch on the line, telling Beck to release him.
Beck moved to the window, lighting a cigarette, "What exactly is your relationship with this guy? He targeted Maja this time."
Fitch's tone was icy, "He didn't target anyone; he just followed orders to send a
text. He meant no harm to Maja."
"What are you implying, Fitch?"
Fitch was currently looking after Nolan Haskins and was overwhelmed.
"Beck, consider this a favor for me."
Beck heard a servant's voice in the background, mentioning Nolan. sick, which made Fitch's

"Beck, I have to go."
Beck hadn't a chance to respond before the call was disconnected.
"Fitch!"
He shouted, but there was no reply.
Beck massaged his forehead, his gaze returning to Dave.
Dave knelt straight, a posture of someone who had been professionally trained.
Fine, he couldn't refuse this favor.
Seeing the ropes being untied, Dave knew he had narrowly escaped death tonight.
As Beck placed his cup back down he warned, "If anyone approaches you for the Sanders family's Sness again, just refuse. I can let go once, but not a second time."
Dave nodded, sweating profusely as he was driven away.

After ensuring there were no bugs in the room, he called Stella.
Stella was just waking up from a dream when she heard her phone ring.
"What's up?"
"Stella, can you believe it? I just had a near-death experience."
He recounted his ordeal with Beck, emphasizing Beck's menacing aura, and how
he didn't rat her out, still shaken.
Stella lowered her lashes, touched.
"Thank you."
Dave was momentarily at a loss for words, then softly added, "You know, I think Beck is actually a decent guy."
"Yeah, he's a good person."
Stella's voice was hoarse when she said this, feeling a wave of dizziness hit her again.
What do you think?
