Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 2087

Her health seemed to be on a downward spiral lately. In the past, despite being bullied by so many, she seldom fell ill. Now, as her life finally seemed to improve, her health deteriorated day by day. Could it be that she was doomed to a miserable fate?

She managed a bitter smile and sincerely thanked Dave, who cautioned her on the other end of the line.

"But from now on, we can't pull off something like this again. We got lucky with Beck letting us off this time, all thanks to Fitch's intervention. Next time, we might not be so fortunate. Now with Bonnie siding with Jason, and Morgan getting tangled in payday loans, it won't be long before his debt issues reach Boris."

Stella rubbed her temples, feeling a throbbing pain.

After a while, she spoke softly, "Dave, do you know? I keep dreaming about crawling on that expensive carpet. Sometimes, I wonder, is this life even real? Did I exhaust all my efforts just to become a Sanders, merely to survive?"

"Stella..."

"But now, I'm clear about my purpose. I want those who bullied me to face their karma. Alan has already met his fate, Morgan's next, then Bonnie, and finally, Jason."

Dave frowned, knowing that taking on Jason wouldn't be easy. Jason's power far exceeded Alan's.

"Dave, thanks for not ratting me out this time. I won't make you go against the Sanders family anymore. Just keep feeding me information."

Dave merely hummed in response and hung up.

Stella tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She knew it was just a matter of time before Beck found out about the incident with Maja being linked to her.

She grabbed a tissue from beside her bed to wipe the cold sweat off her forehead.

At 2 a.m., she was jolted awake by a nightmare, feeling as if her body was engulfed in flames.

She fell out of bed, feeling surrounded by people.

"Beck."

"Beck!"

She called out several times, but there was no response from outside her room. The panic wrapped around her like wire, driving her to the brink of madness.noveldrama

"Beck..."

Whispering the name, she slowly crawled to the door, but she couldn't stand up to open it.

The world seemed pitch black to Stella as she groped along the wall, trying to find the door, but the texture felt all wrong.

"Beck!"

"Beck!"

Her initial cautious calls turned into desperate screams, like a frightened animal.

Beck had just come back from a night out drinking, the smell of alcohol still on him.

As he reached the second floor, he heard the panicked voice.

Stella's voice broke as she pounded on the door.

Beck thought he was hallucinating, recognizing the tremble in the voice.

He approached and knocked on the door.

"Stella?"

Stella felt trapped in her nightmare, unable to hear Beck's voice.

All she could think about was finding Beck.

But then she realized, this Beck wasn't her Beck. His gentleness would eventually fade away.

He would grow to despise her, just like the others, wishing she was dead.

With that thought, she couldn't call out to Beck anymore. Instead, she sat by the door, burying her head in her knees, tears streaming down her face.

Beck knocked again.

"Stella?"

But there was no response. He started to get annoyed, loosening a few buttons of

his collar, intending to return to his room.

However, recalling Stella's trembling voice, he couldn't help but worry. He fetched the keys and opened the door.

The room was dark, and he heard a sob.

He turned on the light and saw Stella sitting on the floor, still crying, her shoulders shaking violently.

This wasn't fake crying; her breakdown was silent and profound.

Beck's initial impulse to scold her vanished. He crouched down and gently patted her shoulder.

"What's wrong? Had a nightmare?"

Stella seemed to snap out of it at the sound of his voice, slowly looking up at him.

Beck was about to ask again when she suddenly lunged at him.

"Beck?"

He wanted to push her away but noticing her shaking, he sighed.

"Yeah, had a nightmare?"

Stella clung to him tightly, her whole body trembling.

"Beck, I'm so scared. There were so many people in this room just now."

Beck knew the security in his villa was top-notch; it was impossible for anyone to be inside.

Considering her past trauma, he didn't press the issue. He lifted her from the floor and placed her on the bed.

"It was just a nightmare. Try to rest."

As he was about to leave, Stella suddenly grabbed his sleeve.

"Beck, there really were so many
