Despite being told all that, Athena's face remained calm and untroubled.

She just kept reminding Tyler over and over again, watching him as he got into the

car.

Through the rearview mirror, Tyler could still see her standing there, waiting until the car was too far for him to make her out before she finally turned back.

That woman, she really was persistent.

Tyler shrugged off any further thoughts. If she enjoyed cooking, she could keep doing it here as long as she wanted.

Back in her room, Athena sat down to diligently study the remaining recipes. The house staff watched her with a mix of pity and admiration.

"Ms. Zade," one of them ventured, "perhaps you should take a break. Mr. Thompson isn't coming back tonight."

Everyone had a pretty good idea of what Tyler was up to. It was common knowledge that he often spent nights out.

Athena looked up and smiled at the housekeeper standing in front of her. "No worries, I'm not tired. I'll finish this last dish. Later, if Tyler comes back late, just ask Bennitt if he wants to eat. If Tyler doesn't come home, give me a call."

The housekeeper nodded, still surprised by this determined young woman. Most of the people around Tyler were there for the industry connections. But Athena seemed to be the only one foolish enough to want Tyler's affection.

The housekeeper thought about saying more, but it was clear Athena was too smitten for anyone's words to make a difference.

Back at her own place, Athena whipped up a light meal for herself. During dinner, Wendy Bennitt called to check in.

"How's it going?" Wendy asked.

"Same old, same old," Athena replied.

"What have you been up to lately?"

"Cooking at Tyler's place. His stomach's been acting up, so I've been working on some recipes to help."

Wendy couldn't hold back hernoveldrama

frustration. "Doesn't he have money for a nutritionist? Why do you need to nurse him back to health? He's just playing around with women. Did you know the new hotshot actress I'm managing is meeting Tyler tonight? She wants the lead role in his next TV show."

Athena went quiet. So Tyler probably wasn't coming back tonight. Maybe she should bring the soup she made to him, at least make sure he drinks some of it.

Wendy hesitated to share the news, knowing how infatuated Athena was with Tyler. She couldn't understand why Athena liked someone so unworthy.

When Wendy finished, she was met with silence. She assumed Athena was too heartbroken to respond and sighed.
