Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 802

Eileen shrugged. "Dude, take it easy."

Wilbur took a deep breath. "Could you tell me their story?"

"Of course," Eileen said with a smile.

"A few decades ago, two brilliant cultivators appeared in Dasha. They were Samuel and Jennifer Penn, a married couple. They were so talented and skilled the world had hardly seen anything like them before."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Let's just put it this way. Both of them could take all the Sanctuary level cultivators in all of Dasha combined."

Wilbur looked at Eileen in shock.

He was more than capable of taking down a Sanctuary level cultivator.

But all the Sanctuary level cultivators together? That was just crazy.

Eileen smiled. "Yes. It's exactly the way you think it is."

"And then?" Wilbur asked, staring at Eileen.

Eileen sighed. "Not long after they founded the Kiwanis Club, it was said that Samuel and Jennifer went somewhere in search of something. They disappeared and were never seen again."

"Where did they go? What were they looking for?" Wilbur urged, looking down at his feet.

"I don't know. No one knows. Actually, this is one of the club's biggest mysteries."

"Do you have any information on them?"

Eileen shook her head. "We only have one picture, and that's it."

"Can I take a look at it?" Wilbur appeared calm, but his tone was clearly affected

to the point where he was tripping over his words.

Eileen took out her phone and sent a photo to Wilbur.

Wilbur fumbled for his phone to open it, his hands trembling slightly.

The attachment expanded, and a couple standing together came into his sight.

The photo was taken by the sea, the couple standing on a boulder overlooking the sprawling ocean.

The woman had a heart-shaped face and foxlike eyes. She radiated an air of charm and authority, the textbook definition of a beautiful heroine.

The man looked unbelievably normal, even slightly simple.

They hardly looked like they matched each other at all.

It was unclear how these two even ended up together.

Wilbur, however, found his hands trembling more and more as he stared at the photo.

He was able to see himself in the photo.noveldrama

He stared at it for a long time, searing their faces into his memory before putting his phone away.

"Are you sure no one knows where they've gone?" Wilbur asked.

Eileen shook her head. "As far as I know, no."

Wilbur smiled bitterly, feeling both rewarded and hollow at the same time.

"Thank you." He turned to leave after that.

Eileen followed after him. "The Kiwanis Club needs a new elder now."

"Sorry, I'm not interested," said Wilbur.

Eileen stopped in her tracks, staring right at Wilbur. "Are you sure you aren't interested in carrying out Samuel and Jennifer's unfulfilled wish?"

"I don't even know what the wish is."

Eileen said, "The Kiwanis Club was formed to prevent evil forces from taking over the world."

"Where are these evil forces, then?"

"Does the Church of Bloodism count?"

"It's just a cult. Is it causing harm to the world?"

"Not yet, but what if it grows big enough to do that?"
