Chapter 803
"We'll deal with it when it gets that big, then."
"That old geezer of a Pope from the Church of Holy Illuminati doesn't look all that good, either."
Wilbur looked at Eileen. "That's the biggest religion in the world, a proper one."
"If they were really all that proper, why do you think Constantine was expelled from it?"
"I don't know, and I don't want to know."
"There are lots of hidden dangers in the world we don't know about yet. I feel like you should take over the Kiwanis Club and start preparing for these dangerous times that might come."noveldrama
"Sorry, but I really don't have the time for that. I have enough things to worry about as it is."
"Are you scared?"
Wilbur turned around to look at Eileen. "I've never been afraid of anyone or anything."
Eileen shrugged with a smile. "I can see that."
"I'd like to go on a walk on my own," said Wilbur.
Eileen stopped in her steps, and Wilbur headed forward on his own.
A long while later, Eileen turned around to head back, mumbling to herself, "You cowardly child. You're about to learn that some things can't be changed just out of sheer will."
Wilbur strolled along the lake, his expression calm.
His thoughts, however, had drifted away to a faraway place.
His mind was currently a mess, filled with thoughts that made him feel as if his brain was about to explode.
Wilbur was so lost in his own thoughts that he nearly missed the three people in front of him who were about to jump into the lake.
He was spooked when he finally saw them, hurrying over at once.
A couple in their thirties, along with a child, had crawled over the barrier
separating the lake from the shore and were about to jump.
Wilbur stood there, only able to react when they had jumped into the lake.
He leaped into the air, hauling the child up and tossing him onto the shore before dragging the couple up.
"What the hell are you doing?" Wilbur asked. He was enraged for some reason, even feeling like beating the couple up.
The man looked forlorn and devoid of hope, whereas the woman hugged her child and burst into tears.
Wilbur took a few deep breaths. "What's the matter here? Why did you bring the kid along to end your own lives, what did the kid even do?"
"W-We can't afford to live anymore," the woman sobbed, clutching onto the child.
Wilbur frowned. "You all seem perfectly able. What's stopping you from living? Who are you to say that your kid won't want to live anymore just because you don't, did you even bother asking your child?"
The rapid-fire questions made the couple burst into tears.
Just then, a car pulled over. Several tattooed men got out, striding over to them.
The leader, a man with a full sleeve named Bobby, looked at the husband. "Trying to escape your debt by ending your life are you, Kory Hunlip? You coward."
"You drove us to do this!" The man named Kory Hunlip spat viciously, full of grief and devoid of hope.
Bobby smirked. "Well, since you aren't dead-you're going to have to pay up. Look how young your kid is, I can't believe you had the heart to do this to him."
"We never placed that loan, who are you to make us pay you back? You even auctioned off my house, you hounded me day after day for the money, and you threatened my family and friends. Who the hell are you people?" the woman sobbed.
Bobby's expression darkened. "You signed the papers yourselves for the loan, you can't back out of it now! We're talking eighty million dollars here!"
"Eighty million? Could you tell me how on earth they managed to take out a loan for eighty million dollars?" Wilbur asked.
Bobby looked Wilbur up and down, letting out a chuckle. "And who the f*ck are you?"
"Your daddy," said Wilbur coldly.
Bobby flared up in fury, pointing at Wilbur. "I'll kick your ass for talking to me like that!"
"Really? Try it. I dare you to."
Bobby blinked. He had obviously not expected that Wilbur would say that.
A while later, he shouted, "These two took out a bank loan for eighty million dollars, and now that it's due, they aren't paying up! What's wrong with asking for our money back?"
"There's nothing wrong. I just want to know what they did to have an eighty- million-dollar loan approved," Wilbur questioned.
Bobby glowered at Wilbur. "It's none of your f*cking business! Get out of here before I give you hell."
What do you think?
