Chapter 806
Wilbur frowned at Belinda. "Well, I'd just like to take a look at the loan contract and the signatures on it and make a copy of it so that we can run it through handwriting authentication. How is that causing any trouble?"
"Sir, this is a bank. We can't just give you access to anything you want to see," Belinda said, casting a disdained glance at Wilbur.
Wilbur asked, "Don't they have the right to that, even as the borrowers themselves?"
"You can go about this legally, but I can very well tell you now that it's not going to affect the repayment demands," said Belinda coldly.
Wilbur felt a strange burst of rage in his chest.
Legal procedures would take no less than a year, and even then it was unclear if anything would be settled.
On top of that, Kory and his family were hardly powerful enough to go against the bank at all.
Either way, nothing was going to come out of resorting to legal procedures.
The repayment demand would not stop in the meantime, either. Kory and his family already had trouble surviving from day to day, and would hardly have the time, energy, or money for a court case.
Belinda's words sounded perfectly logical, but she was clearly trying to push Kory over the edge.
Why else would Kory and his family have resorted to ending their lives? Kory and his wife's faces fell, their chests heaving in rage and indignation.
Despite the fact that they had been fed the same explanation multiple times, they still could not help their feelings of helplessness every time they heard it.
Wilbur looked at Kory. "Tell them what your demands are, Kory."
Kory stopped short, before saying, "I'd like to take a look at the security footage when the loan application took place. I also want to see the loan contract to have handwriting authentication done on the signatures and have the violent, aggressive repayment demands against my family and me come to an end."
"Hear that?" Wilbur said, looking at Belinda.
Belinda snorted at once, shaking her head. "As I've said, you're free to ask for access to these things through legal means, but you're still going to have to pay up in the meantime. Besides, bank documents aren't just open to public view. Even the police can't do anything about this, got it?"
Wilbur's expression darkened at the words. "Are you allowed to speak on your bank's behalf, and do you take full responsibility for everything you just said?"
"I'm the manager of this bank, sir. Of course I'm allowed to speak on the bank's behalf, and of course I take full responsibility for everything I just said. Now please get out, or I'm calling the police," Belinda scoffed.
Wilbur smirked. "Alright, then. I'll speak on Kory's behalf as well and demand that you provide him with everything he just asked for within the next three days, or you're going to get it."
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Belinda eyed Wilbur coldly. "Again, this is a bank."
Wilbur took one look at the haughty look on Belinda's face and lashed out at once. "Yes, but you seem to think it's the state council. You're delusional, if you ask me."
Belinda's expression turned cold at once, and she turned to yell, "Security! Kick them out!"
"There's no need for that," Wilbur said coldly. "We'll be leaving now, but I'll say this one last time. Have everything Kory Hunlip asked for just now prepared in three days, or someone's going to jail. I really, really hope it's not you."
After that, Wilbur turned to leave with Kory and his family.
Kory was still in despair. "What now, Sir?"
To Kory, it did not look like the case had improved in the slightest.noveldrama
Yet Wilbur smiled kindly at him. "Don't worry. I promise you that it'll be over in three days. You can all come back with me and get some rest at my place until then. Someone's already losing their mind now."
He then ushered Kory and his family into his car and drove off to Sealake Island.
Wilbur knew this as well as the bank did.
There was no way in hell a regular person would be able to take out a loan for eighty million dollars.
These people were just abusing their power to ensure Kory could do about the situation.
Wilbur was certain that his words just now would be sure to stir up some confusion in the hearts of those who were guilty.
If these people were willing to wise up and fix the problem the right way, everything would be settled.
But if they were to go after Wilbur as they had with Kory, there was going to be a problem.
What do you think?
