Chapter 805
That was what people like Bobby were used to, dishing out threats and
harassment every day until they were paid.
Wilbur turned to Kory. "Come on, you've got a life to live. There will be a way to fix this. You just need to be brave."
"Could I please know who you do for work, sir?" Kory's wife asked carefully.
Wilbur smiled. "You don't need to know about that. All you need to know is that your situation is hardly a problem to me."
His confidence seemed to give Kory and his wife a little more courage, and they nodded furiously.
Wilbur beckoned for them to follow him, walking over to the Sealake Island parking lot.
Everyone got into Wilbur's car and drove off into the city.
Not long after, Wilbur stopped at the entrance of a bank.
They all got out, and Wilbur led the way.
Kory and his family tailed behind him, visibly cowering.
"What's the matter?" Wilbur frowned.
Kory looked immensely forlorn. "The guards won't let us in. They'll beat us, too."
"Just follow me. I'll handle this."
Wilbur shook his head as he entered the bank.
Kory and his wife looked at each other before mustering the courage to head into the bank.
Just as they had stepped foot inside, two guards came over at once. "What the hell are you still doing here? I'll have you arrested if you stay a second longer!"
"Who's getting arrested here?" Wilbur demanded coldly.
The guards raised their eyebrows. "Who the hell are you?"
"I'm a friend of Kory Hunlip, I'm here to ask about his loan."
"We've explained it to him so many times now. He has to pay up. Even the police have warned him that they can arrest him for causing a disruption if he keeps trying this."
Wilbur smirked. "Really? Why is Kory telling a different story, then? Apparently, they never applied for the loan, nor did they ever sign any contract of sorts." "That's none of my business, but we'll have to deal with you if you try anything." "Bullshit!" Wilbur shouted. "How does a regular, working-class family even get approved for a loan for eighty million dollars? Is your bank run by idiots? Tell your supervisor to get out here, or I'm going to give you hell now."
The guards blinked at Wilbur, stunned by his air of authority.
Eventually, one of them said, "The higher-ups have said that they won't be offering any more explanations, and they can bring whatever issues they have to court if they want to."
Kory said, "The court won't even let us sue. We don't have enough evidence!"
Wilbur knew that there was definitely more to this, and it was pointless to keep arguing with a mere security guard.
"Tell your supervisor to come out, or you're going to get it," said Wilbur coldly.
The guards blinked at him, not daring to say another word. There seemed to be a strange air of authority about this man.
Just then, a middle-aged woman wearing the bank's uniform walked out and approached Wilbur. "Belinda Hogan. I'm the manager here. Is anything the problem?"
"Do you know about Mister and Missus Hunlip's eighty-million-dollar loan?" "Yes. What about it?"noveldrama
"I just want to know if they signed the contract themselves, and if the loan was credited directly to their accounts."
Belinda's expression darkened at those words at once. "Sir, we've explained as well as we can that Mister Hunlip and his wife both applied for the loan, so they have to pay it back. I'll have to call the police if you keep causing a scene."
What do you think?
