Chapter 808
Wilbur brought Kory and his family to his room, sitting them down.
Kory and his wife looked pretty nervous. They had only just found out that Wilbur owned such a huge place and had so much money. Neither of them would have been able to tell.
"Don't look so anxious. I'll have someone settle you down somewhere here for the next few days until this is settled," Wilbur smiled.
Yet Kory still looked antsy. "We don't know how to thank you, Mister Penn. If this really gets solved, you'll have saved all of my family."
"Yes, Mister Penn. Please help us," his wife sobbed.
Wilbur said, "I told you I'm taking care of this, so I'll be sure to get to the bottom of it. Don't you worry."
Kory and his wife nodded. They sat there with their child in their arms, unsure what to do next.
Wilbur gave it some thought and called for Lily.
Lily showed up, bowing politely to Wilbur. "You were looking for me, sir?"
"Yes, I was. Get Mister Hunlip and his family settled in a room. You'll take care of their food and shelter for the next few days."
"Of course, sir."
Kory said at once, "Mister Penn, would this be too much trouble? We're more than happy with just a place to stay."
"It's fine. You need to rest well and relax your spirits a little," Wilbur smiled.
Kory teared up at once.
He had been on the verge of a breakdown upon finding out about his loan and felt like he was going to go insane.
Kory did need a break, physically and especially emotionally.
The family bowed to Wilbur, before leaving with Lily.
Wilbur sat in his room for a while, before beginning to meditate.
Kory's case was hardly a big deal and did not really require much effort to think about.
Not long after, however, Wilbur's phone rang with a call from Charles.
Wilbur picked up the call. "Sir, there's a man by the name of Jayen Toss looking for you. He's got a dozen men with him, and I don't think they're friendly."
"Take them to the meeting room. I'll be there in a bit."
"Yes, sir."
Wilbur hung up the phone with a sneer. "Can't blame me now if you come looking for trouble yourself."
He got to his feet, calling for Lily.
"How's your cultivation going?" he asked, looking at her.
Lily lowered her head. "I think I can control those powers a little now."
"That's great. Keep up the good work."
"Okay." Lily nodded furiously but still did not dare to raise her head.
Wilbur could not help but sigh. This girl was really too scared of everything.noveldrama
"Bring Kory and his wife to the meeting room. I'll meet them there."
Lily nodded, bowing before she left.
Wilbur took his time making his way over to the meeting room.
Sealake Island had been built as a place for businessmen to rest and relax, so it had all kinds of facilities.
There was even a sprawling meeting room that could seat over a hundred people.
Wilbur strolled lazily over, to where Charles was already waiting for him.
Wilbur nodded at Charles. "You may leave."
"Yes, sir." Charles turned away, and Wilbur entered the meeting room.
A man with a black patch over one of his eyes sat in the meeting room, glowering
at Wilbur. Bobby stood behind him along with a dozen other men.
The men were chatting and laughing among themselves, hardly paying Wilbur any mind.
Wilbur did not particularly mind either, sitting down across the man with the eyepatch.
"What do I call you?"
"Jayen Toss," said the man coldly.
What do you think?
