Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 809

"Is anything the matter, then?" Wilbur asked.

Jayen said, "I'm here for Kory Hunlip. Heard he's here now."

"That's right. He's a guest of mine, you can talk to me."

"Yeah? Well, are you going to pay his debt for him too, then?" Jayen asked in a deep voice.

Wilbur chuckled. "Whoever applied for that loan would be paying."

Jayen tossed a stack of documents onto the table. "Here's all the proof that you need to know. He applied for the loan himself."

"Really? Why do I feel like he didn't?"

"The truth's not going to change just because you want it to. I'm telling you, I've dealt with bastards like you before who refuse to pay up! Don't make me give you a hard time," Jayen spat.

Wilbur's expression darkened. "I was thinking of giving you a chance, but it seems that I've overestimated all of you. Well, since you think you're above the law, I'm going to have to give you a hard time too."

"Give me a hard time?" Jayen snorted. "I've yet to meet anyone in Seechertown who dared to say that to me."

Wilbur smiled. "Let me make a phone call."

"Go ahead. I'd like to see who you can get to help you," Jayen said, leaning back in his chair smugly.

Wilbur said nothing more, taking out his phone and calling Faron.

He explained everything to him, before saying, "Bring Belinda Hogan and that bank president to me too."

"Nice, bro! I'm going to get another case on my belt."

Faron hung up the call excitedly. Despite this not exactly being the best way to do things, Faron was still able to have some amount of control.

Wilbur then called Elsa, briefly explaining the situation to her before hanging up. Jayen looked at Wilbur quietly, his expression full of disdain.

He had seen plenty of people like Wilbur and had also witnessed them call for help.

In the end, though, they would still end up at Jayen's feet, heeding his every wish.

Anyone who thought they would be able to get away with acting out in front of Jayen was making a fool of themselves.

Just then, Lily came in with Kory and his wife.

Wilbur waved a hand for them to sit down next to him.

Lily was clearly nervous at the sight of strangers.

Jayen almost burst out laughing at the sight.

Was this the supposed amount of power Wilbur had?noveldrama

"Not bad, Hunlip. Think you can get out of paying just because you found yourself

a rich guy to help you out?" Jayen called out.

Kory mustered up the courage to say, "I just want to know who stole my identity and used it to apply for the loan."

"You're still not going to admit it, then?" Jayen said coldly. "Break his legs for me." Behind Jayen, Bobby and the rest sprang into action.

Kory's expression shifted at once. He would not be able to protect himself against so many people for sure.

Just then, Wilbur waved a hand. "Hey, what's the rush here? My people are on the way to handle this, can't you spare a little time?"

Jayen nodded, and Bobby returned to stand behind him along with the other men.

"You're going to be screwed if you don't pay up," Jayen said, looking at Wilbur coldly.

Wilbur sighed. "Just wait a little."

"Sure, I'd like to see what you can do," Jayen scoffed.

Wilbur said nothing more, lighting a cigarette.

Time ticked by slowly. Eventually, a series of footsteps rang outside.

Wilbur chuckled. "Someone's here to fix this."

Just as his words rang through the air, the door of the meeting room was pushed open. Elsa marched in with a team of Special Forces agents, shoving the barrels of their guns against the backs of Bobby and the rest of Jayen's men.

Elsa called out, "I heard someone was trying to start trouble here. You think you're above the law, don't you? I live here, idiot!"

Jayen was shocked into silence. Bobby and the rest of the men were scared out of their wits as well, trembling in terror.

What was happening here, and why had Special Forces shown up?
