Chapter 810
A brief silence later, Jayen spoke up nervously. "I-I'm just here for repayment demands following a loan contract with the bank! We're a legal company here."
"You? Legal?" Wilbur snorted. "So you can push people to the brink of death just because you're a legal company?"
"That's not exactly what I'm after!" Jayen broke out into a sweat, doing his best to explain himself.
Just then, however, Wilbur said, "I don't believe that you didn't know there was something wrong with this loan."
"I really don't know anything!" Jayen cowered at once, devoid of any of the cockiness from before.
Wilbur said, "Okay, sure. We'll just wait for the bank president to get here, then. I'm sure he'll tell the truth, and we can get to the bottom of this."
Elsa chuckled, waving her hand.
The Special Forces agents kicked Jayen's men to the floor, shouting at them to put their hands behind their hands.
Bobby and the rest were scared out of their wits, trembling as they complied.
They were more than happy to bully regular folk but hardly dared to do anything in front of the Special Forces.
Jayen was still seated, but he was already drenched in sweat.
He had been around long enough to know that someone capable of calling for the Special Forces was no small feat.
This was going to be a doozy.
What Jayen did not understand was how a regular guy like Kory had such powerful friends.
Just then, Elsa sat down next to Wilbur with a cheeky smile. "How's that? Fast enough for you?"
"Not bad." Wilbur remained emotionless.
Elsa sighed, shaking her head. "I'll be old and gray before I ever hear a
compliment from you."
Jayen nearly passed out upon hearing the conversation.
How did these two even know each other? The badge on the woman's shoulder
meant that she was at least a lieutenant.
That was already a terrifying position.
This Penn guy, however, hardly seemed to be fazed by her.
Who was he, then?
The thoughts plagued Jayen's head, and his panic and fear grew as his legs began to tremble.
Kory and his wife were also stunned.noveldrama
Mister Penn had gotten the Special Forces to take action. This was truly something else.
They also grew emotional at the same time.
They had truly met a lifesaver.
Just then, more footsteps sounded outside.
Faron walked in with a smile on his face, looking fresh in his uniform.
Behind him were the people in charge at the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, bringing in Jerm and Belinda, who were trembling uncontrollably.
Faron sat down on Wilbur's other side with a grin. "Fast enough for you, bro?" "It's alright," said Wilbur.
Faron shrugged meekly, before turning to glare at Jerm and Belinda. "Have a seat."
The two of them sat down, scared out of their wits.
Not long after Jerm and Belinda's little escaped on the couch, Faron had burst in on behalf of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and arrested the two without another word.
The sudden arrest threw Jerm completely off-guard.
There was no department he feared more than Faron's.
Jerm tried his best to ask what was happening on their way here, but he had only gotten one answer: he was involved in an eighty-million-dollar loan scam and had to assist with their investigation.
What do you think?
