Jerm's soul almost left his body.

He had never expected him to get into trouble all of a sudden.

Jerm was one of the higher-ups and had so many connections. How had no one at least given him a heads-up?

Belinda was also scared out of her wits.

She had worked together with Jerm all these years, leaving finance to enter the banking industry. The two of them had been involved in a great deal of terrible, terrible acts.

She was going to spend the rest of her life in jail if she was investigated.

Belinda's chest heaved as she sat in the meeting room, sweat pouring down her back.

Jayen's face paled even more at the sight of Jerm being brought in, staring at Wilbur in disbelief.

Jayen had come to realize that he had severely underestimated just what this young man was capable of.

He had even gotten people from the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Just then, Wilbur got to his feet and walked over to Jayen. "Which one of you wants to go first?"

Jayen opened his mouth and shut it over and over again, unable to get a word out.

He understood that everything he said now would determine the course of his fate, and he could not afford to mess up in the slightest.

All of a sudden, Wilbur kicked Jayen to the ground, before proceeding to beat the crap out of him.

Wilbur only stopped when Jayen was beaten to an inch of his life before returning to his seat.

Faron and Elsa exchanged glances of shock. Neither of them knew why Wilbur was so angry. This hardly seemed like him at all.

To tell the truth, even Wilbur himself did not know why he had done that. All Wilbur felt was a terrible rage in him, and he desperately needed a way to let it out.

Jayen and his men just happened to be there and deserving of a beating.

Wilbur sat down, facing Jerm and Belinda coldly. "You two love abusing your power to prey on the weak, don't you? Let me show you what true power looks like today, and what does it really means to prey on the weak."

It was true that Jerm and the rest had used their power and status to do many harmful things.

At some point, they even felt like they were untouchable and above the law.

To these people, all that mattered was power and money, and there would be nothing they could not do.

Even a case as severe as Kory's was hardly anything to them.

After all, they were not the ones suffering and thus did not have to care.

In comparison, Wilbur had just beaten someone to an inch of his life in front of

Special Forces and the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Jerm and the rest were far from capable of anything like that.

At best, they could only harm a few innocent people.

Wilbur was a beast in comparison.

His assault seemed to have not happened at all, all these agents and officers completely oblivious and unmoving.

Jerm was truly scared out of his wits now. His body crumpled, sliding off his chair and under the desk.

"Sit him up!" Wilbur shouted, and two officers came forward. They hauled Jerm to his feet, pressing him onto the chair by force.

Neither of the officers dared to let go, and Jerm was already paralyzed with fear.

Wilbur picked up a towel on the desk, wiping his hands before tossing it away. "Now, can someone tell me what happened with this loan?"

Kory and his wife were pale in the face as they stared at Wilbur. Even they were scared out of their wits.

"I'll tell you, I'll talk!" Before Jerm could even react, Belinda had butted in.noveldrama

Wilbur sneered. "Are you now? I thought the bank's information wasn't to be disclosed so easily?"

Belinda trembled all over. She knew that this terrifying young man was mocking her with her own words.

Of course, she hardly dared to be arrogant at all now, fighting to be the first to speak in hopes that she might get a lighter sentence.

"No, no, I can tell you. I'll tell you everything," Belinda begged, her voice breaking into a sob.

Wilbur sneered. "Sit Jayen down too so he can listen carefully and won't give me a hard time for being unfair."
