Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 814

Wilbur's brows furrowed slightly.

He had never really been involved with Cape's business side of things.

However, it would not be good for the company at all if such a big investment was

to go awry.

Wilbur gave it some thought, before saying, "Book me the next flight. I'll go personally."

"You want to go by yourself?" Faye asked, surprised.noveldrama

Wilbur nodded. "I know nothing about what's happening there. I think it's best I go and help whoever I can, then take a look at the situation before worrying about the security team."

Faye fell silent. That seemed like a pretty good plan.

The chairman of Everest was still waiting to be saved, and there was no way they were going to hand over the hundred-million-dollar ransom.

If they were to do that, those criminals would only ask for more.

They would have to be put in their place so they would never try to mess with

Everest Foreign Trade anymore.

"Thank you for doing this," said Faye.

Wilbur nodded, and Faye called her secretary to have the flight tickets booked at

once.

Faron and Elsa sighed. Drinks tonight were probably not going to happen.

...

Over in Freeca.

Freeca was a land rich in minerals, with the mining industry covering two-thirds of the world's mineral supply. It possessed more than half of the world's gold, platinum, palladium, cobalt, and diamonds, as well as uranium, manganese, chromium, and petroleum, among others.

Just then, in the chairman's office over at the Everest Foreign Trade headquarters.

Hannah Toya leaned back in her chair, looking nothing but worried and tired.

Her father, Everett Toya, had been kidnapped and held hostage while he was viewing a mine the afternoon before.

His security team had been wiped out, without leaving a single person alive. The perpetrators were a syndicate led by a man named Keith Sackler, who had made a name for himself because of his ruthless ways.

He and his men would camp out in the mountains or forests, robbing any goods that passed by. The group consisted of four to five hundred people, all of them armed. Even the government struggled to control them, having failed many sweeps on them already.

This time, the group had gotten brave enough to kidnap Hannah's father, even calling them to demand a hundred million dollars ransom in three days.

Hannah almost lost her mind when she heard the news.

Everest Foreign Trade had come this far on her father's hard work and was now a booming corporation with huge capital.

Yet it was because of the harassment by this syndicate group that the mining project failed to profit over and over again, even making huge losses.

Hannah's father had no choice but to ask Cape for help, thinking of having them send over an armed security team to change the situation.

Cape had agreed and signed the contract, with the down payment transferred and the armed security team being formed.

Right after that, Hannah's father had been kidnapped.

Hannah could not imagine just how the Toya family was going to handle the news

if anything was to happen to Everett.

There was no way Hannah was powerful enough to face up against Keith.

All she could do was beg Cape for help, in hopes that they would be able to fix this using their power.

At the very least, they would be able to rescue her father.

That was because the ransom required over 50 million dollars, so Cape would need to approve the transaction.

Cape had also said that they were not going to pay the ransom and had already arranged for someone to come over and handle the situation.

Hannah knew that paying the ransom would only result in the criminals asking for more and more.

Yet there was nothing else she could do at the moment.
