Chapter 819
She stared at the crystal grains on the floor in confusion.
A pause later, she let out a scream that rang through the entire inn.
At the same time.
Kulu had just woken up as well. He smiled at the sight of his still-asleep wife and children before getting up to head to work.
Kulu did not have breakfast, as his children hardly had anything to eat.
Just as he pushed the creaky door of his house open, he saw a young man standing in front of him.
Kulu widened his eyes in shock, nearly shouting out loud.
The next second, his shock turned to fear as he stuttered, "Sir, I-I..."
"Always choose kindness. It will lead to a better life for sure." Wilbur smiled, putting down a stack of bills.
Just then, the flame serpent whooshed down from the sky. Wilbur leaped onto its back and soared off, disappearing into the clouds.
Kulu stood still as a rock, his jaw agape.
He stared at the money, his gaze full of disbelief.
A while later, Kulu fell to his knees in a series of frantic bows and chants.
After that, he gathered up what would be enough money to feed himself and his family for the entire year and rushed into his house.
"Darling, Darling, I've just met God! He blessed me, he blessed me so! Wake the kids up so we can pray to the Lord of Fire Dragons, come on!" Kulu exclaimed emotionally.
At the same time, Hannah and her men had left the town.
The security team she had brought with her would be enough to protect them from average hooligans, but would hardly be anything in the face of Keith Sackler.
Hannah sat in the car in silence, her brows tightly furrowed with worry.noveldrama
Harrod said, "I'm sure Keith will keep his promise, Miss Toya."
"Trusting these people to keep a promise is just about as useful as putting a bandaid over a gunshot wound," said Hannah bitterly.
Harrod could only sigh as well.
There was nothing else Hannah could do here.
No one would just watch a loved one endanger themselves without doing anything.
The car drove on steadily, but Hannah and Harrod kept silent for the rest of the ride.
Hannah knew that the chances of her winning this bet were incredibly slim.
A few hours later, they stopped at an open plain.
Harrod looked at the navigator screen. "This is where Keith said to meet."
Hannah got out of the car, looking around her.
There was a forest covered in trees about a kilometer ahead of where they were.
Just then, dozens of vehicles rushed out from the woods.
All of these vehicles were of pretty old models, ranging from vans to trucks.
On those vehicles, however, were many army men.
The vehicles rumbled loudly as they closed in, surrounding Hannah and her men.
Hannah and Harrod's expressions turned solemn, and the security team gathered at once. They formed a circle of defense against the cars, protecting Hannah in the middle.
Just then, a run-down ATV pulled up in front of them and a few men got off.
The leader was a buff, shirtless man with a silver pistol hanging from his waist. He swaggered over, his gaze haughty and arrogant.
Harrod shouted, "Please stop right there, Mister Keith Sackler."
Keith barked out a laugh. "What's this? Are you scared?"
"I want to see my father," Hannah called out loudly.
There were only a few dozen meters between Keith and Hannah, and all of the
security team's weapons were pointed right at Keith.
He was hardly fazed by that as he grinned at Hannah with a flash of greed in his gaze.
"Bring him out here!" Keith shouted.
A man was hauled out of the ATV.
"Dad!" Hannah was shaken at the state her father was in.
