Chapter 830
A shapeless energy drifted out of Wilbur, passing through Lacey's body.
It was only then that she recovered, staring at Wilbur in terror and confusion.
"I'd like a room, please," rasped the elder in his croaky voice.
Wilbur kept his cool. "Sorry; this isn't an inn anymore."
"Oh? What is it, then?"
"The Church of the Fire Dragon Lord."
"Is it now? Does this Lord of Fire Dragons really exist?"noveldrama
"I'm going to give a talk on this later in the square. Feel free to come if you're interested," said Wilbur.
The elder nodded wordlessly, turning to leave.
Lacey asked shakily, "Sir, what's happening here?"
"Just someone looking for trouble. Pay him no mind," Wilbur smiled.
Lacey nodded, slightly confused.
Wilbur glanced at the time. "Tell everyone from the inn to gather in the square."
He turned to leave after that.
After leaving the inn, he paced about the little town.
Everything here seemed to be stuck in the seventies or eighties.
The houses were built out of mud, the roads unpaved and caked with dirt.
The only decent-looking buildings at all were the two inns.
Wilbur arrived at the town square.
There were several stalls selling vegetables and daily essentials. This was considered the center of the town.
Everything seemed poor and old-fashioned, worlds away from Goldsand City.
Wilbur loitered around the square for a while. All of a sudden, a gigantic creature swooped down from the heavens. It flew above the town in circles, letting out a series of howls.
Its appearance led to panic at once.
The people cried out in terror, fleeing into their houses, and bolting the windows shut. The hawkers in the square ran for their lives as well.
Wilbur smiled.
Just then, the sound of engines sounded from outside. Over ten pickup trucks made their way into the town, pulling up around the square.
Over forty men emerged, all of them armed as they stormed the square. They fell
to their knees before Wilbur, crying out to the Lord of Fire Dragons.
The flame serpent landed on the ground slowly, curling up behind Wilbur.
Wilbur looked at the men before him quietly. These all used to be Keith's men but were now his believers.
The only problem was that this would be hardly enough people.
"Omar, have the town mayor come over," said Wilbur.
Omar, the leader of the Paro tribe, called out before leaving the square with several men.
Not long after, a lanky old man in his fifties was brought over.
The old man trembled all over at the sight of the flame serpent.
Wilbur looked at him. "What's your name, sir?"
"I'm Groot Kasha," said the mayor fearfully.
Wilbur smiled. "Hello, Mister Groot. I've been commanded by the Lord of Fire Dragons to build a Fire Dragon Lord Church here. Can you call the townsfolk to gather in the square?"
"Everyone seems very afraid, sir," Groot mumbled.
Wilbur frowned and turned to Omar. "Help Mister Groot gather everyone here."
"Yes, sir."
Omar got to his feet and proceeded to 'accompany' Groot to gather the people. Not long after, people began to fill up the town square.
They did not dare to get too close, however, merely standing a good distance away from the square. The flame serpent was far too terrifying.
Even Lacey and the rest stood far away.
What do you think?
