No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

"How did things go with Nelly last night?"

Cedric's expression stiffened slightly. "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Villains die from talking too much."

"Whoa, don't tell me you actually slept with her! What now?"

"No, I didn't touch her."

"Good thing you kept your head. Don't forget this: the two of you can never be together. Get a grip, alright?"

Cedric glanced back at Noelle, who was eating at the table. His gaze softened as he looked at her.

"I know," he said, his voice tinged with bitterness. He knew it better than anyone, but now he found himself caught between a rock and a hard place.

Changing the subject, Cedric asked, "Did you find out anything about last night's incident?"

"The Merlocks were involved. That

little bitch from the Liddell family, Xenia, is in the same business school as Laura Merlock's sister they're classmates. Xenia

deliberately provoked Nelly

into

offending Samantha, which led to

the incident at the bar."

Recalling Laura's appearance at his door earlier, Cedric asked in a stern tone, "Have Samantha's bodyguards been dealt with? Make sure they keep their mouths shut."

"Handled it before you even asked. But Samantha probably saw you leaving with Nelly last night, so the Merlock family likely knows you're seeing another woman on the side."

Cedric rubbed his temples and said, "We can't let anyone find out about Noelle. It wouldn't do her any good."

He understood that Noelle wanted

to leave the Liddell family and live a carefree life. If word got out about her relationship with him, her life would be anything but peaceful, and he refused to be the cause of that.

"Leave that to me. But what about Nelly being set up? If we hadn't been there last

night, who knows what could've happened to her?"

"Didn't you say Samantha had a history of bullying her classmates and stirring up trouble? Dig up the worst of it and make the Merlock family teach their daughter a

lesson!" Cedric instructed.

He knew Noelle didn't want him to intervene, but that didn't mean he would stand

by and do nothing. After ending the call, Cedric sent a message to his secretary, saying, "Clear the hotel!"noveldrama

He couldn't risk anyone seeing Noelle when they left later.
