Chapter 432
There was no way Nadine would console Brad. He had brought this entirely on
himself, so there was no reason for her to feel sorry for him. In fact, she was more amused than anything. If he weren't sitting right beside her, she would've burst out laughing by now.
Once she had coaxed him into holding the pen, she wrapped her hand around his and guided his hand to the signature line designated for the husband on the divorce agreement.
Her heart was pounding at that moment. She was so close. Once she had Brad's signature, she would be free.
But perhaps she had celebrated a little too soon. Before he could even write a single letter, Brad's hand came to a halt and hovered midair.
Brad turned to look at Nadine in confusion, his brows knitted together in a deep frown. "What kind of game is this? I've never played this before. Don't you dare trick me, Nadine!"
Nadine wouldn't have bothered coming over if he wasn't wasted. What little sense he had left constantly reminded him not to push her buttons any further.
Her heart, which had soared with anticipation, plummeted as she watched his hand freeze midair. The bitter taste of failure filled her mouth. She had been so close! Just a little bit more and she would have succeeded!
Nadine thought he had sobered up. His words scared the crap out of her, and her hand trembled, causing the pen to slip and fall to the ground. For a moment, she wanted nothing more than to strangle Brad.
She muttered to herself, "Why the hell can't he just sign it?"
Suppressing the rising tide of regret, she uttered through clenched teeth, "How could I possibly be deceiving you? I love you so much. I would never lie to you. Trust me, finish this game, and I'll take you home, okay?"
In reality, her hands had already balled into fists, and she could barely resist the urge to deck him. She had been so close to getting what she wanted, yet he suddenly accused her of deceiving him Nadine couldn't help but wonder if he was really drunk or faking it.
At that moment, she strongly suspected that Brad was faking it. But when she looked closely at his eyes, the sluggish movement of his pupils made it clear that he was definitely drunk.
It seemed her words soothed him a little. Brad nodded obediently and mumbled, "Okay then, let's go home. Our home!"
Before she could respond, he wrapped his arms around her waist, got to his feet, and murmured, "Go home."
In truth, he wasn't completely out of
it. Brad could clearly tell that Nadine was attempting to trick him into signing the divorce papers. So, he
pretended to be more drunk than he
actually was and deliberately
dropped the pen from his hand.noveldrama
Divorce? Not a chance! There was no way he was going to make way for Nadine
and Tyler. He had never once considered ending their marriage.
Brad's sudden insistence on going home had caught Nadine off guard. Her mind was still fixated on the unsigned agreement, and she
refused to give up. Struggling
against his hold, she tried to break free to get the divorce agreement. "Let go of me first!"
