Tangled Temptations

Eloise let out a small laugh.

She knew exactly what was going on between her and Harvey. He had never done her wrong, and their relationship was not something hidden in the shadows.

Eloise kept her mouth shut.

Max felt pretty awkward.

He always thought Eloise was a soft-spoken girl, but boy, was he wrong! She turned out to be cold as ice when it came to making decisions.

How could he have missed that?

Back then, when he was busy chasing Orlena, he broke up with Eloise over a simple phone call. He thought she would beg him to stay, crying her eyes out, but all she did was keep quiet for a minute, then let out a soft 'okay'.

Since that day, Eloise hadn't contacted him once.

It's like their past never existed like she never loved him for the past four years. She didn't even take her stuff from the apartment and even went as far as to block all his info.

Their relationship was utterly obliterated!

Sometimes Max wondered, did Eloise ever really love him? How could she forget their relationship so easily?

Max just turned around and left.

Downstairs, he took the apartment key out of his pocket and tossed it into a trash

can.

Eloise stood there for a while.

Michelle's voice came from inside the house, "Eloise, why are you still outside?" Eloise responded and once she collected herself, she walked inside.

Angus Laurent was already asleep. Eloise tidied up a bit and prepared to leave, Michelle saw her out.

She opened the door and saw a cigarette butt on the ground.

Michelle made the connection and said very excitedly, "Was that jerk here again? Eloise, you have to understand, Max is heartless."

Eloise gave Michelle's hand a gentle pat, "Don't worry, I get it."

Just then, Harvey called.noveldrama

Michelle was nearby, and Eloise felt a little uncomfortable talking.

Understanding the situation, Michelle went back to her room to give Eloise some privacy. As she closed the door, Michelle couldn't help but think, it would be so great if Eloise and Attorney ended up together! Eloise had a hard life before, and though she didn't say it, Michelle noticed her pink diamond necklace was gone. That was the only heirloom her mother left her.

Harvey had been staying in the office for a few days.

On Friday, he called Eloise to let her know he'd be coming home, to which Eloise responded bashfully, "Yeah, I know."

Harvey, having not seen her in a few days, became a bit cheeky.

"You sound so happy. Have you been missing me?"

"How much do you miss me, really?"

Eloise thought he was being a total flirt.

He might seem like a serious lawyer on the outside, but he's a total flirter at heart. Not wanting to lose to him, she whispered, "I miss you. I miss every part of you." Harvey was stunned. He didn't expect Eloise to be so bold, to flirt with him openly. This made him look forward to the next night even more. Though Eloise hinted she hadn't slept with a man before, Harvey always thought of it as their little secret.

He swallowed hard, "You're naughty!"

Eloise's voice was soft, "I've prepared the bath for you." and then she hung up. Harvey let out a small smile, then loosened his tie.

He immediately closed his laptop, grabbed his coat and left. Denise watched him leave, surprised because she thought Attorney was pulling another all-nighter. Harvey was in a great mood.

His work was going smoothly, and he had planned a dinner for Denise and his other colleagues to show appreciation for their hard work. He paid the bill, grinning from ear to ear.

He looked so handsome!

Denise thought to herself, with that smug look on his face, Attorney must be rushing home to see Ms. Laurent! It seemed like Attorney really liked Ms. Laurent! She had never seen Attorney bring a girlfriend home before.
